A week or so ago, I started an account in order to fund the artwork on my card game project called
Western Shores (well, at least that's the working title.)
The game is about Viking Explorers braving the unknown, as I've reminded before and as I shall continue to remind my blog viewers ;)
Last weekend I was finally able to run a few playtests with friends. We're in transition between Revision IV and Revision V of the cards' design (game design, not visual design).
Yes, it's playable. But I want to make it better before any open playtests are released. Besides, it's not that fun without the artwork.
This is why @thewesternshores was created. As a fund to pay the remainder of the work on the illustrations and then, test prints, visual design, printing, costs, etc. That's ahead of us in the future. While I am working on game design, the artwork that remains would take at least about six more months and @silver.art is doing the heavy lifting in that regard.
The total sum we're aiming at for this stage is 7,500 USD. Each small step matters and here's the plan for the first one:
These shall be the first digital artworks and/or prints for collectors. Limited edition, nine copies of each one only.
Pictures One and Three were done by me and the other seven pieces were done by @silver.art and it...shows ;)
More details coming as soon as we prepare about a couple of things. Then, the color versions and our offers shall appear!
Yeah, they are all watercolor by initial concept of the art for this game project.

The @thewesternshores account will be set as a beneficiary to receive 50% of the payouts.
The first goal is to fund the illustration process. There will be about 70 unique artworks. Of those, about 22 are now done. The remainder will take about six more months of work at least.

Each time a new and unique map of the world should be built by each player. Even Odin hasn't played the same game of Western Shores twice.
