Nigeria: Then, Now & Later...II

Again, even after independence, we got in dependence on other countries,
ten years, twenty years, thirty years, even up till fifty years gone,
and there were no traces of change,
we hoped that at sixty, we will arise from our sick beds,
but at sixty, our illness grew worse.

Our lives are being slaughtered like that of a sheep in a slaughterhouse,
our rights, hoarded in the warehouse,
our attorneys, imprisoned in the jailhouse,
the speech which was supposed to bring relief has rendered us speechless,
what shall we do?

Green white green was the code,
but now we cry and shout ICHABOD!!
for our white has been painted with the red blood of the innocent.
The pride of being a Nigerian no longer reside in us,
as we try to rip off the Nigerian flesh and blood in us.

...to be continued...

Thank you for your time.

My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.

Still me,

My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
