Happy Birthday @redpalestino

You know how they say that Hive is revolutionary? This is one of the main reasons why I enjoy being on HIVE. The people.

I met @redpalestino in one of the #teammalaysia events about a few months back and ever since then, we found that we both shared the same crazy liking for durian. He is a German and has come to Malaysia along with his family about a few years back and because of his love for this place, the food, the people, he stayed. Thank God he did! If not we wouldn't be able to celebrate his birthday last night.

About a week ago, I received a text from him asking me to book my 25th June night for his birthday. It was still during the recovery lockdown period but I was willing to see if I could still make it. I haven't been to a gathering like this for 3 months and I thought that this would be a perfect time to meet my friends back. fast forwarding to last night

I was thinking of a gift to give him. The first thing that came to my mind would be durian. Just cause he loves it and it was something that could never go wrong. I pre-ordered fresh durian from Karak farm, near the highlands for their tasty durian and packed these little babies up in a insulation bag for @redpalestino.

I was excited for this party because like I mentioned earlier, I have not seen any of them for more than 3 months, and of course, it was going to be my first gathering stepping out of my home. If you noticed my long hair.

The kitchen was set with lovely food prepped by his wife. There were more but I was too hungry to snap all the photos. Couldn't wait to get my hands dirty on the durian as well. Oh right, red told me that he bought a bunch of durian himself as well. 6 packs of about 400gram durian pulp, it was a durian feast!

Then we sang lots of birthday song with many different languages. I didn't know the other languages, but I just clapped along.

I guess this is why I never left this wonderful platform. It's the people you meet here. Of course the topic of the day wasn't always about crypto, the amazing thing was that it was also about our personal lives. If you're talking about the layer zero in crypto, this is where its at.

I do miss #teammalaysia meetups just like the old days where we get to bring other International Hivers around Malaysia, introduce them to nasi lemak, durian, and basically just gathering and meeting up. I hope that Hive would bring more people together like this but for now... Stay safe and once again
