A BUSY FEW DAYS
After quite a bit of work, I am glad to announce the first row of stone have been added to the dams foundation!π₯³
*Pretty stones all mortared up and curing.
This is definitely another one of those times where I underestimated the amount of time the job would take to complete it.π I was initially thinking a week, maybe...but I now know it will be at least two, and possibly even three.
That being said, I've come to realize that I do underestimate times pretty regularly...or am I overestimating myself, and what I can get done?π€£π
*A couple of my piles of stone to build with.
*Stage one done...now i begin building upward with the reservoir side of the dam wall.
A NEW FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE AT THE HOMESTEAD π
After having our garden assaulted and such, I decided I better get us a guard for out there.
*Enter Jo-jo, the homestead scarecrow!
I work him 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So far he hasn't even complained.π You're a great worker Jo-jo! And so far we have not had any more issues with the garden.
WATER RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT
After a recent accident involving a tree falling on our water reservoir, a new one had to be got. So I was about to order one when I noticed my cousin had a bunch of them. I asked if I could buy one from him. He told me no, but I could have one for free.ππ€―π₯³
So, with a little help from my nephew, we rolled the barrel all the way back to the spring area. It was quite a task for him, but he managed it without any big issues.πͺ After drilling a couple holes in the barrel to accept the necessary plumbing it was set in place and the pipes hooked up.
*Pushing the barrel up a hill... hopefully the picture loads, as it looks weird as I build the post.π€π
*New reservoir in place, with the old one for comparison.
Wow wonderful job dear fellow you are a great mason and constructing the dam.
Thanks! I have a long way to go. It will probably be a few more weeks before it is completely done. Then i will begin building the hydroelectric system!π₯³
Yeah great to know that you have to build a hydroelectric part as well. I would love to see that construction.
Great work and do you pay the new full time worker?π
Of course i do. I pay himin gratitude and by giving him a shower with the garden hose, which alao means I do his laundry.π€£π€£
...also, how was i not following you?π€¦π€¦π
...fixed now.
Did a very useful job, hope all goes well.
Thank you friend! I hope so as well!π€
Looks like things are progressing well. You even had the help of your nephew. Well done! That scarecrow is not scary though :D
About your questions, I can't recall. I have to think long and hard for that for my recall is not that great :D
Glad to hear from you dear friend! Things are moving along pretty good. But one thing I have learned, is that creating time schedules to complete tasks that need done, is awesome, but I almost never meet the deadlines because our life here is so unpredictable. ππ The help from my nephew was awesome and truly appreciated as I rarely have any help or even any company out at the homestead. We send our love and our best wishes to you and your loved ones and I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!π€π€
I know exactly what it means when things don't go as planned. At least you have a concrete plan to follow and the idea of what to do next then work things out as you go along. Doing things along is not easy. Any help is indeed welcome.
Have a wonderful week too!
Great progress my dear friend !!
Thank you dear brother! π€
