Lack of fertilizers makes rice leaves yellowish instead healthy dark-green color :Applying NPK fertilizer to rice field for Optimum yield.

in Homesteadinglast year

Hello Hive,

This is coming really late and am not sure if it will have any benefit or impact on the rice but since we are not ready to very thin grains of rice, we decided that it is better to add the fertilizers.

Organic foods are better as we are beginning to learn. They contain less chemical that affect human systems. They are more healthier both to man and the environment.
Since the world is also trying to reduce Agricultural and chemical pollutants in water bodies, as aquatic life also matters.

Food grown using organic fertilizers like poultry droppings, cow dungs and compost are more healthy to our human systems but these aren't readily available ever since the advent of inorganic fertilizers that could multiply your harvest twice as much

Lack of fertilizer made the rice yellow in color

I would also like an experiment to determine if organic fertilizers are better in terms of food crops production talking about the quantity harvested per acre and also the quality of grains.
Maybe this can be a next year farming project. While we are still on the quest to grow larger amount of crops is also paramount that we put into consideration the health benefits of what we eat.

This is the white NPK fertilizer we often apply to rice field every year, often times the rice leaves gives a yellowish- green coloring if it lacks Nitrogen or phosphorus, these elements are needed for proper growth of the plant and once it is readily available in the soil we have green and healthy growing plant.

This is the same challenge we are facing in our locality, the use of inorganic fertilizers. In as much as innovations come into the society, the aim should be to promote and develop healthy foodstuff instead of the other round.

Now, broilers don't eat natural foodstuff; it affects their droppings when applied in the farm. However, our aim is for our crops to yield more, but my worry is the depreciating nutrients day after day. In a nutshell, our fertilizer contents need to be more nutritious for plant growth.

Great one, friend lol!
I hope to join you in the time of harvest, lol.

Exactly dear.
Thanks for this excellent addition.

You're welcome friend 😊

The farm looks so good.

Yes dearie.
Thank you

Organic fertilizers are definitely better for both crops and organism of the aquatic habitat.

I thought it was harvesting season now though so I’m a little surprised how you’re applying fertilizer now.

It is harvest now in some other locality.
These grains were planted and transplanted at different times in Nigeria and even within this environment depending on many factors.

Am just applying fertilizers now due to many reasons and our grains can still manage to take this in at this time.

Yeah, that's exactly what you said.
If there is no fertilization, then your rice plant is not fertile and not fertile.
That's a good effort for you to provide rice fertilizer.
Hopefully your rice will be green again.

I really do hope so too..

Will be going out to check it this weekend.
