POV: Snapping On "Snapchat" For The First Time

I like to appreciate "great chats" so when I come across one, I would try my best to keep it going as much as I can. I have a new chat mate and the chats have been much livelier and fun, there's no boring moment when we're active at same time.

Now, imagine someone like that finding out this chat mate is more active on Snapchat, not on the app they were using. I was asked if I'm on snap, and my response was fast and smooth "yes, yes".

Now, the truth is, I had never really bothered to know how Snapchat really work or if people actually use it to chat (they even call it "snap").

But yes, I had the Snapchat app on my phone... For what? For the filters. My pictures and videos look better with the different filters on Snapchat. But I didn't think I had a profile like on WhatsApp.

I was asked for my snap name, see me going to search for it on an app I thought I used a lot. I did get the name quickly so it didn't seem suspicious. Then I got my first snap message and I replied, the interface was so strange to me.

I didn't try to show it especially after my chat mate said... "This is my WhatsApp, Snapchat is a best of the game". You know that "Let me not do jjc" feeling, I just said I don't use Snapchat much.

The most embarrassing part of using Snapchat for the first time that I made sure not to show while chatting was, I got lost in the chats that are meant for me. My chat mate is a fast responder when online so trying to keep up in the strange yellow land (Snapchat) was like a real struggle.

While I'm trying to respond to a message, over five more are waiting for my response at the bottom. I kept looking so closely to my phone to be sure of which message I was responding to. A thought came to me and I burst into laughter.

What if I had to chat with more than one person at intervals on Snapchat on my first time using it?

I bet I would have just act like I've gone offline and resume using my comfortable green app (WhatsApp). I think I almost called a random user on video while I was snapping, I don't even know how I went into that strange dm in the first place.

At the end of our day's chat, I actually asked for help... "How do I react with emojis on messages? I don't know how to." and my chat mate didn't hesitate to show me. I got a good hang of how to use it but it's not comfortable as WhatsApp yet.

At least, I can use the app for more than just taking pictures but it doesn't seem like an easy path right now. The chat interface is way different from the usual... Oh! It's a snap, not chat. I guess that's why the unusual difference I'll get used to.

I didn't use Snapchat at all, but I feel WhatsApp is cool. A conversation with several people at the same time can result in sending message wrong message to the wrong person which can be embressing.

Yeah, that's what almost happened to me on the app.

So you ran back to the green app😂😂

And snapchat is fun too if you can master it

Lol I ran back o, but I'll go back again. 😅
