The Football Exchange is a live market for Premier League footballers. Every player has a price, quoted in MEDALS, and that price moves every gameweek on his real FPL points. Back the ones you think are underrated, sell them before the rest of the market wakes up, and the difference is yours — real MEDALS you can cash straight back to your Hive wallet.
No packs. No scarcity. No gacha nonsense. Everyone buys from the house at the same fixed price, so there's no sniping and no queue — just you, the fixtures, and whether you read them better than the field. Every MEDAL you win comes out of the house's pocket, which should tell you how confident we are that most people won't manage it.

How to Play THE FOOTBALL EXCHANGE — A Step-by-Step Guide
Every Premier League player has a price in MEDALS. Buy low, sell high — this guide takes you from zero to your first trade in about ten minutes. Numbered badges in each screenshot match the numbered steps below it.

STEP 1 — Get MEDALS
You trade with MEDALS, SportsBlock's token. Two ways to get them:
① The quickest route: the BUY MEDALS + button in the top bar of any SportsBlock page.
Or earn them the SportsBlock way — post, predict and engage on sportsblock.app, or pick them up on the open market via Hive-Engine / TribalDex.
You'll also need to be signed in with a Hive account (Keychain or HiveSigner). No Hive account? Join free at sportsblock.app and we create one for you.
STEP 2 — Open the Exchange
Head to sportsblock.app/exchange. Three things to get your bearings:
① The market — every Premier League player with his current price
② MY SQUAD — your players, your cash, your profit
③ The WALLET button — where MEDALS move in and out of the game
The strip across the top shows your CASH, SQUAD VALUE, PROFIT, and when the current gameweek locks.
STEP 3 — Fund your game wallet
Click WALLET in the MY SQUAD panel:
① Enter an amount on the DEPOSIT tab — 300–500 MEDALS builds a decent starter squad; deposit what you're comfortable with
② Hit DEPOSIT MEDALS and approve the Keychain popup — one signature
Your MEDALS travel on-chain to the public escrow account @sp-exchange (you can verify it any time), and after a few seconds your CASH balance appears. From here every trade is instant — no more signatures until you withdraw.
STEP 4 — Find your player
The market is 800+ players deep. Cut through it:
① Search any player or club by name
② Filter by position — keepers, defenders, midfielders, forwards
③ Filter by team
④ Sort by VALUE (either direction), ▲ RISERS / ▼ FALLERS (who moved most at the last reprice), or A–Z
Tap any player to see exactly how his price is made — the last four scores that built it. No black box.
STEP 5 — Buy
Hit BUY on your man and read the slip before you confirm:
① The breakdown: market price + 5% spread = what you pay. The spread is the house's only fee — you'll sell back at the full market price.
② Confirm — the trade executes instantly and prints to the public ticker.
Squad rules: up to eleven players — max 1 GK, 3 DEF, 4 MID, 3 FWD — and one copy of any player. The gauges in MY SQUAD show your remaining slots. There's no scarcity and no race: everyone buys from the house at the same fixed price, which only changes when the gameweek reprices.
STEP 6 — Watch your squad work
① Position gauges — gold means that position is full
② Each holding shows what you paid ("IN @ 84") and its live value, with your unrealised profit in green or red
③ SELL — one click, instant, at the current market price
Prices are frozen while the gameweek plays. When the last whistle goes, every player reprices on his real FPL points — good gameweeks push prices up, blanks drag them down. That's when green numbers appear... or don't. Buy before the rise, sell before the fall.
STEP 7 — Take your money out
Profits are only paper until you bank them. WALLET → WITHDRAW:
① Enter the amount (cash only — sell players first if you want out entirely)
② WITHDRAW TO HIVE — MEDALS arrive in your Hive wallet from @sp-exchange within seconds. No signature needed, and it works even while the market is locked.
STEP 8 — Climb the board
① TOP TRADERS ranks pure profit: cash + squad value − what you put in. A bigger bankroll doesn't buy rank — only good reads do, and withdrawing your winnings never costs you your place.

The one-paragraph strategy primer
Prices are built from a player's last four appearances — so the market has a memory, and it's short. A missed match doesn't count as a zero; it just stretches the window back. Which means: injured stars cool off slowly, and the sharpest trade in the game is buying a fit-again player before his first match back. Double gameweeks land two matches of points in one appearance — they move prices hard. Read the fixtures, back your judgment, and remember every MEDAL you win comes out of the house's pocket. That's the game.
The Future
- If The Football Exchange season 1 is successful we will be looking at tiered models where players are much more expensive so the risk reward will be higher.
- Mini Leagues with a unique ownership model where only one user has ownership of a player. So if someone own Haaland then nobody else does until you decide to sell him on. Name your price!!
