Liverpool takes a point in Etihad Stadium

Sometimes I think there is always something we can learn from football about the history of a game and the type of intensity you would expect from such games. In the English Premier League, there are a couple of games you know will surely be fun to watch even when the teams are having a bad run of games.

Take Manchester United against Chelsea for example. These two have a rivalry that's loud and reputable. Their games always promise a lot of drama, intensity and talking points. A game between Liverpool and Manchester City has also been like that in recent years and we got an opportunity to watch them go for the jugular against each other in a delectable early kick-off of this Gameweek 13 of the Premier League.

Man City 1 - 1 Liverpool

When I saw the line-up while going into the game, I was quite confident that Liverpool would get something out of the game. I know a game with Man City is never an easy one, but Liverpooi is also a tough cookie whenever they put up a very decent performance. That's it.

The first half of this game was a pain to watch for any Liverpool fan. We put up a very stinky performance in that half of the game and we couldn't do anything once we go past the midfield. I think the only test we had for Ederson was that header from Nunez. The rest of that first half was filled with a series of poor performances from the lads, especially from Alisson.

He always have that one game, doesn't he?

I will always rate Alison very high when there is a talk about showstoppers. He's one of the best Goalkeepers right now and his distribution from the back has always been superb. However, his performance in today's game was too awful by his standards. His distribution was also very poor and he's the one who made an error that caused the goal we conceded in the game.

Nunez, Jota, Tsimikas, Szobo... The list goes on. All of them would look back on their performance in this game with a disappointing face. Some people will say the issue is because they just made it back from an intense international break. Others would say it's because this is an early kick-off. All I know is that Man City had a very good run in today's game.

The 1 - 1 scoreline doesn't tell the whole story... Yeah, the devil is always in the detail.

As I said, this was a frustrating game to watch for a Liverpool fan although we can't complain about the shared points. Getting a draw like we did against Man City in their home is a fairly decent thing to do. As for Manchester City, they will surely be gutted about the final scoreline.

That's it, folks. I'm keeping my eyes on my FPL Squad to see what they will bag in this Gameweek of the English Premier League.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma.
