today I will share some portraits of familiar fruit from mainland Aceh, this fruit is very unique with other fruits in general, maybe you have heard people in mainland Aceh say the phrase "Mancang" yeah it stands for "mango Bacang" which indicates they are discussing a unique fruit & favors this one.
"Mango Bacang" can grow in any weather, usually the people of Aceh plant Mango Bacang in barren land with hot conditions above 30© but uniquely this plant has managed to grow & bear fruit, so this plant seems to be a plant from heaven that is useful for all person.
Bacang (Mangifera foetida Lour.) is a kind of fruit tree that is still related to mango. People often refer to the fruit as Bacang, ambacang/embacang, or Mango Bacang. In various places, it is also known by various names such as limus (Sd.)[1], pakèl (Jw.), asam hamawang (Banjar), macang or machang (Malays in eastern Sumatra and Malaysia), maa chang, ma chae, or ma mut (Thailand), and la mot (Myanmar). In English it is called bachang or horse mango. Wikipedia
at first glance this fruit is similar to mango, but after you touch it you will find a very big difference between the two, namely in aroma & taste, Bacang fruit can emit a fragrant aroma as far as 10m from where it is, so that people in Aceh often use this fruit as the main ingredient for making "rujak" because of its distinctive aroma and makes rujak connoisseurs addicted.
