The one and only QA (a.k.a. Kwa, Qua)@hiveqa, utilizing his irresistibly charming manner, has convinced me to lay myself wide open for you all to ask me ANYTHING! What Pandora’s Box have I opened here??? At least, that’s what I’m thinking. 🤣

I’m pretty new on Hive, so I invite you to have fun and ask whatever 🔥burning questions🔥 you may have. My only caveat is that some questions may be too personal for me to answer in a public format. If that happens, I’ll respond accordingly and invite you to ask another question, or questions. No limits on how many you can ask!

Some Sparkers for the Questioning of Nine

  • Creatively finding your way out of a box
  • Navigating your own uncharted lands
  • Anything about Art ~ Drawing | Painting | Sculpture | Carving | Photography | Design
  • Anything about Crafts ~ Sewing | Pattern Drafting | Crochet | Knitting | Jewelry
  • Total Foodie
  • Foraging/Wildcrafting
  • Sprouting ~ Microgreens ~ Gardening
  • Rockhounding ~ Mineral Identification
  • Makin’ Stuff
  • The day I came eyeball to eyeball with a moose…....

What’s the wildest, weirdest question you can come up with? Get creative! I’m sooooooooo looking forward to all questions while I hide behind my camera!

BRING ON THE QUESTIONS!
Sort:

Are you the one that refuses to speak English during @r0nd0n’s show or am I confusing you with someone else?

Lol

LOL! English is my first language and I’m pretty limited in terms of language diversity (except for some French). @r0nd0n’s show, the last one, I posted in both English and Spanish. I’ve met several Spanish speaking people of late and thought I should pick up a bit of Spanish. The only way for me to do that is to practice here and there, since languages other than English are very far from being something I learn quickly and it takes quite a bit of effort.

@r0nd0n is such a dictator. He shamed us for speaking Spanish!

That may be a touch harsh on @r0nd0n.😢 He is only following the example that has been set. I’ve noticed @r0nd0n has a sensitive side too, under all his armoring.

Can you try finding out why I got kicked and banned from Conscious Resistance?
No biggie if you can't find out or simply don't wanna.

SRS QUESTION TIME FOR AMA

When I first made your acquaintance you were more guarded and tentatively approached sharing information about yourself and I couldn't figure out at the time whether it was out of paranoia or timidity.

Considering the backdrop of where we met and our respective Commonwealth #downthecrown hellholes of origin, I figured it was a healthy paranoia which made you cautiously communicate.

Fast Forward 6 months

Now here you are on #hive, spreading your nine wings and flying, happily harrassing @msp-waves and @msp-mods like there's no tomorrow. So i'm wondering what is it that turned you from being a meekling into a pandora's box opening lush who is now brazen enough...(and I quote)

> to lay myself wide open for you all...

I think you were caught in a sweep of a bunch of people that were banned at the same time from Conscious Resistance, although, what criteria were used to do the banning, I don’t know. I didn’t stay on there much longer after you were kicked off.

SRS QUESTIONS
I have to say, the way you wrote this is rather poetic and I love it! Reasons for being tentative are an overall awareness of how I interact with anyone, whether in person or on the internet. Prior to 2020, I chose to be very disconnected from the online world for several years to focus on my personal growth and development while limiting external influences (also the same offline). Late 2019, in the process of searching for very specific information, I reconnected to the online world because it was the only way I was able to communicate directly with someone I wanted to speak with. At that time, I was very guarded. Enter 2020 and massive change, which has narrowed options for everyone and directed people to move online for a multitude of reasons. Not something I wanted to do, since I was, consciously and deliberately moving in a different direction.

Circumstances, both personal and the current situation put me in a position of re-evaluating my choices and ascertaining my shift in direction. Admittedly, I was sitting with shifting prior to 2020, for a couple of years and waiting for my intuition to point me where I needed to go.

What really got my nine wings flying (what a great image, lol), were the people @pal and interacting with them. This is what drove my decision to join #hive and spread my wings. @r0nd0n has a special way of drawing people out, as I have mentioned to him. The playfulness and community of @pal people, love you all by the way, is essentially what motivated me to grow beyond my limitations and this continues. It is rare for me to want to be a part of any group, so this is a testament to how much I enjoy everyone I’ve met on @pal and #hive.

So yes choosing to, “laying myself wide open for you all” because of the inspiration and community. ❤️

When I first made your acquaintance you were more guarded and tentatively approached sharing information about yourself and I couldn't figure out at the time whether it was out of paranoia or timidity.

This a good observation you make haha ... at first I was scared of her! I was like who names themselves NineClaws? 😮

Very astute observation by @aagabriel. Scared of me @hiveqa…really? I would suggest that fear isn’t much of an obstacle for you.

The “NineClaws” thing, since you bring it up, begs to have that story told. It was “Nine” at the beginning for quite a while. Around the end of November 2020, @Sanity Fare, who is on #pal server in discord, gave me the name “One-of-Many-Claws”, which I added to my user name. At the time, I told @Sanity Fare that people will ask me questions about this name. She instructed me to direct anyone with questions about it to contact her directly. She has her own server on discord of the same name.

Fast forward to my joining Hive and deciding on a user name, which I discussed briefly with @hiveqa and he liked the name “nineclaws”, so that is how this became my user name. Do you recall @hiveqa?

who names themselves NineClaws? 😮

Someone who has ten claws.

I lost one, so there's only Nine now. 😜

😀

What did you do with my 10th claw anyway? 🤔

Hmmm no comment :P
Keep in mind you can do another AMA. People have done it a few times. Like once a month or so.

I heard you had my 10th claw made into a trophy and it's part of your collection now. Is that true?

Once a month or so? I'll have to recover from this one first. 😉

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

African or European swallow?

:)

@ewkaw @jasonrussell I admit it I swallow not knowledgeable 😜

Haha nice one :D
You would know those things if you were a king.

ahhahhaaaa I looked for a gif but couldn't find one 😆

@jasonrussell & @ewkaw, the both of you are hilarious. I can't wait until you each do an AMA, I have my questions all ready for both of you. When's that going to happen btw @hiveqa???

Good people there for sure. I'll see what I can do 😀

Hahah Love that movie! Cracks me up every time 😂😂

It's been a while for me. 😆

LOL, that’s a question I don’t know the answer to, without looking it up, which misses the point of said question. There would be multiple factors to consider in ascertaining that and at best, I think a general estimate could be arrived at from gathering an analyzing data. I’ve never observed swallows to this degree. I’ll make a guess based on my very limited observations and say about 10 metres per second, which is probably totally inaccurate.😄

okok here i go

  1. What´s your favorite color?
  2. What´s the worst thing you have done?
  3. The most silly thing.
  4. How much you love me?
  5. AND When you gonna adopt me?

ahahhahaha lov uuuuuuuuuuu

Tripode! Los más fáciles y los más difíciles! Te mereces una medalla. 💎

You asked the easiest and most difficult questions of everyone!

  1. Blue
  2. Ignore my intuition
  3. Allow myself to be interviewed live on CBC radio to talk about something ridiculous
  4. There are no words to describe how much I love you. I would need to do a piece of art to properly express how much.
  5. As soon as Canada decides to open the border up.

Muchas Gracias! Eres tan dulce y muy inteligente. 💙

hahahahahahaha i´m the best asking questions haahahahahhaha

#longliveINTUITION

I NEED THAT PIECE OF ART.

btw, i have my bag ready to go hahahahha

¿Se quedaron todos sin palabras? sounds so much better, I agree!!!!

I'm going to have to make that piece of art.

I'll make room for you at my place too! Fingers crossed about the border! 😜 💙💙💙

wohooooooooooooooooooooooo

Lookie, lookie - it's time to turn the tables a bit and ask the questions. Feels a bit like truth or dare. I have a handful, so lemmie just pepper you with them:

  • What is your favorite artistic medium to work with?
  • What are your three favorite pieces of art you've had a chance to see or experience (performance can be in there as well as the traditional visual variety)?
  • WTF is up with the super uber macro pics?
  • What is your absolute most favorite meal (entree or dessert)?

Enquiring minds wanna know.

 3 years ago (edited)

Indeed, indeed, it does feel somewhat like truth or dare! Loving the peppered questions!

I am unable to narrow to one favourite artistic medium. I’ve explored so many things. Of those, my favourites are carving, food, and gardening. These three are favourites for the same reason, in that, no matter how “practiced” I become, they are a perpetual challenge.

Favourite three pieces of art I’ve seen/experienced; I can narrow to four with my best efforts.

  • A netsuke “Mummified Child” carved by Peter Welsh
  • Paintings by The Group of Seven, in particular, Lawren Harris’s “Icebergs”
  • “The Crying Game”, at The Elgin Theatre
  • Concert by Dead Can Dance, album “Spiritchaser”, at Massey Hall

WTF is up with the super uber macro pics?
Being that I evolved into creating primarily miniature carvings and needed high quality photos, I had to figure out a solution that didn’t involve hiring someone to do them for me. I already did photography, so I taught myself how to shoot macro, the only way to capture quality shots of the miniature carvings. Somehow, all of this involvement with small and the most minute of details got me hooked on macro photography.
It has brought an even more heightened attention to details that mostly and frequently go unnoticed by most and myself. It has also taught me how to see light differently. So now, I play with it on a regular basis to see what “develops”.

Very hard pressed to pick a most favourite meal (I don’t eat dessert), so to do that, I've had to think of what I would find very difficult not to have, so that would be eggs, served up in any way, except raw.

Does this answer enquiring minds, or is there more pepper? Perhaps lemon pepper? 😄

What exactly do you put on your Nachos?

Wu, with the most and hard-hitting questions! Thanks, for posting a question WuWu 😀

P.S
Don't think you aren't going to get an AMA request yourself soon. 😛

Wu has been listening to me be in “nacho heaven” too many times and wanted in on my secret. Can’t blame her for that! 😜

@whatsup I think QA’s a little too excited about you doing an AMA. What’s up with that?

Haha I can't help but get excited for a Wu AMA!😀

Your excitement is contagious!😄

I like the blue corn chips, so those are what I usually start with. Toppings are finely chopped red peppers or green peppers, green onions, tomatoes, red Thai chilies (4) or 1 red Scotch Bonnet chili (seeds included) and lots of aged white cheddar. Side addition is one of my salsas that I make.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm Can i ask more than 1 question?

Come and see thiss @ailindigo

Damn.. I just asked 3 questions 😂😂😂

hahahahaha good

You can ask as MANY questions as you like! 😜

wohooooooooooooo mmm let me think hahahah

@tripode ¿Están todos fuera de palabras 😜

hahahahahahahahaha ¿Se quedaron todos sin palabras?*** This way sounds better.

you better ask a few questions! :P I still have to do mine.

@tripode QA and I are anxiously awaiting your questions 😉

you will make one too?

  1. I rarely give out my birthdate information, unless required for contractual agreements, but I will consider sending it to you, since I imagine you want to do my chart.

  2. It is absolutely impossible for me to pick one favourite of anything, since I’m too fond of diversity and too many, far too many interesting books. Mostly I read non-fiction and there are several hundred “favourites” in that category. I also read literature, so easier to pick one of my recent favourites, that being the author, Haruki Murakami and two of his books “Killing Commendatore” & “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles”. Really, I love all his books. He has woven very profound observations about humanity and life in this world within the tapestry of each of his books. He has done this in a very creative and unusual manner and with a sense of humour.

  3. Again, it’s impossible for me to pick a favourite when it comes to rocks and minerals. Also, context plays a part in my preferences. If I’m carving stone, my preferences run to quartz varieties, in particular, agates. Also conglomerates. Probably amber is close to the top of the list of favourites for carving because it is so sensitive, temperamental in nature, and challenging. In terms of what my favourites are in a general sense that would be smokey quartz, pyrite, black tourmaline, tormalated quartz, apophyllite, honey calcite, and optical calcite are some. These are ones that resonate with me on an intuitive level that I utilize for specific purposes.

Really good questions, since we chat so often! Thank you and also happy you liked the self-portrait I did of my hiding behind my camera, one of my favourite places to be. 🤣

NICE! :D

and yup tbh I find difficult to have one fav of anything lol I get ya. I've been interesting in reading Murakami, have read really nice stuff about him.

Thanks for answering!! :D

You're welcome! 😄

I highly recommend Murakami. He gave me much to ponder with his writings. I think you'd really like his books and it's kind of in the realm of your imagination too! 😉

Tick, tock on your AMA request haha 💙👅

Well, here I go! :P

First, I wanted to say we are lucky to have NineClaws on the Hive platform. You've really taken to it and have grown leaps & bounds already! Glad to have met you and ofc thank you for doing an AMA I know it can be kind of scary. :)

What got you inspired with Rockhounding? I never really knew much about it till I started researching here.

Is it true you can skin a moose in under 15 minutes!!?? 😀

WHEW! I thought you were never going to make it! 😰

Thank you @hiveqa! I’m really enjoying being here and putting my best effort forward. I was initially hesitant about doing an AMA, but thought, hey, it’s a great way to have some FUN and LAUGHS, which I’m totally up for 😝

My mother and I would collect many things from nature. She started all of that with me when I was a child, so she taught me to see how beautiful stones are, each for their own reasons. Later, I became interested in minerals and geology, which ended up going along very nicely together when I began carving stone. To this day, it is often more my preference to carve stone that I’ve found while rockhounding. Each stone, regardless of composition, has its own unique story to tell. As I carve it, that story unfolds even more.

I can’t skin a moose in under 15 minutes. I’ve not had the opportunity to try. I have helped skin other animals though, such as deer, rabbits, raccoons, and fox. You wouldn’t want to skin a moose in a race of less than 15 minutes though. I’d like to see a hunter do it that fast and do it well. 👀
