EPL-ScoreChallenge #9 - Gameweek 2

in Football4 years ago

Hi All,

Special thanks to @fredkese @dexpartacus @pratiksam for participating in last weeks #EPL-ScoreChallenge. We were so close in getting our first winner for this new season, but unfortentlly Liverpool spoiled the party. There is still many more opportunities to win.

#EPL-ScoreChallenge #9 - Gameweek 2

This week I will be reviewing the Southampton v Tottenham Hotspurs, the game will be played on Saturday 20th September at 12:00BST @ Saint Mary's Stadium.

Who will register their first win of the new season

Both Southampton and Tottenham are coming to this game without a single point from the opening fixtures. Both teams dominated position in there respected game, but couldn't find the killed punch.

The London club should be bouncing into this week's game as they progressed into Europa League third qualifying round. Also their boy Gareth Bale is coming back home on loan from Real Madrid and the arrival of their new signing Sergio Reguilon also from Madrid, both signatures should be completed by Friday.

On the other hand, the Saints have lost midweek in the Carabao Cup to Championship side, Brentford. Hasenhuttl started a strong Southampton side that started the Premier League season at the weekend but they were outplayed by last season's play-off finalists.

Harry Kane and Danny Ings would be itching to get on the score sheet on the weekend, both strikers had a very ordinary start to their campaign from their high standards.

The Saints have won their last 2 home Premier League games against Spurs. The last time both clubs have met in the Premier League was in Saint Mary's stadium and that game finished 1 nil to the Saints; goal by Danny Ings 12' game highlights.
