The topic of this month is LIVING WITH CANCER

LIVING WITH CANCER

Cancer is the world's most terrible disease at present, after Cardiovascular diseases, even though the Covid-19 had threatened that spot, we still have cancer among us today. Despite the resources in terms of time, research and money that has been spent on the permanent cure for this disease, much still has to be said about it.

We all have people who had cancer either as family or friends and we ve had to be a part of their care and story. Perhaps some of us are even dealing with it.

The Med-Hive Prompt this month chose to visit this topic to have us share those experiences. We are not really here to learn the theoretical, or research approach for cancer, (although that is also welcome), but we are really interested in the stories behind living with Cancer in or around you.
According to Global Cancer Statistics,

The global cancer burden is expected to be 28.4 million cases in 2040, a 47% rise from 2020, with a larger increase in transitioning (64% to 95%) versus transitioned (32% to 56%) countries due to demographic changes, although this may be further exacerbated by increasing risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy.

It goes to say that an increasing number of people could be dealing with the disease by the 2040,with the rate of prevention and if treatment isn't forthcoming.

We need to talk about this, what do you think about this.

As usual, we also help you with some suggestions for you to start the creative process:
  • Health worker can share about their their experiences with cases, without divulging private information ofcourse.

  • Do you have a relative with Cancer, how have you been coping?

  • What are your thought about Cancer in the world and what would you do to curb it?

  • Ever lost someone to Cancer?, You may want to share.

  • What do you consider is the best way to cater for Cancer Patients in your country?

  • You may feel free to create your own way as well.

Great topic!
I think there will be a lot to draw from this. This topic touches on almost every part of modern day human existence, because of the gravity of what we know today and are yet to know about cancer.
