Hello wonderful community members
Today it's time to give the community an update and review the performance we are having so far, figuring out what is going well and what we have to improve. We want to ensure a better experience in the community, and more importantly, we want to make sure people are getting fair rewards for their efforts when they post on the Med-Hive community.
We have been observing over the months of our existence, testing the grounds for how we can spread medical knowledge and health awareness into the hive experience, and also, more importantly, brainstorming about ways to boost activity levels within our community as well as rewards.
Therefore, first, let's review what we have accomplished so far and then let's summarize new ideas we want to implement that hopefully will allow the community to grow and improve its member's experience.
What have we done so far
So far, we have tried to come up with several strategies to encourage different health concerns discussions and also to bring more attention to our daily health habits, lifestyle and medical experiences. We have also set in motion different prompts and topics to allow members discuss with medical professionals of various specialities and fields in the health sector while encouraging them to share posts to create health promotion and awareness for everyone on the blockchain.
In the prompt regard, we have made a few changes along the way, more specifically, we went from using the weekly prompt to making a monthly prompt, mostly because we wanted to give more time to everyone who wanted to make a technical post as we know it can take quite some time between researching, reading and preparing a medical post to come out. We have seen our member's responses and have also noted the statistics of activity that those changes made in the community.
We have changed a few things on our discord channel and throughout the last few months we have seen more people join, we have introduced a translation bot to help us communicate better with each other and for a while there we've seen increased activity in our discord, with more interactions between members.
Our most important achievement so far, we believe, was that we were able to start distributing some rewards to every participant in the monthly prompts, both with ecency points as well as HP delegations to the best post and comments. We had a few bumps along the way but this was a major goal we had in mind. We believe we have to reward our community for their efforts in spreading medical knowledge and helping us raise health promotion and awareness.
We have also taken good note of your suggestions and ideas on how best we can improve the living experience of every individual on the blockchain with true medical knowledge, health promotion and awareness.
Now we are here to serve you better.
What we need to improve
We acknowledge there are several things we have to improve. We noticed activity getting a bit cold the past weeks and we really want to change that. We also feel that the rewards for the posts on the community are still very light compared to the effort our members put out there, we assure you that didn't go unnoticed!
We come to the conclusion that having a whole month to submit at least one post in a community does not altogether favour our activity levels. Therefore, we want to give more opportunities for more activity on the platform and hence drive attraction and attention to our family. It's gonna take time, effort and patience from all of us.
With this in mind, we already took action to launch a few updates and we are currently working on a few more for the month of December as well as improving our planning construction for next year. For now, here are the changes already set in motion as well as our plans for the future:
1- Return of weekly prompts as well as maintain a monthly theme or topic.
It's our goal to start to launch weekly prompts with different teasers, challenges, questions or dilemmas to talk about around the topic of the month. We believe this way we will boost our activity levels with more posts being made on the community while promoting more discussion around the topic of the month.
You will be seeing this change already this month. Stay tuned for the next monthly theme coming out on Sunday 4th!
2 - Continue the rewards system while we find other ways to improve and upgrade our rewards
As good as it was to have set in motion a reward system for members who participate monthly, we really want to upgrade it. We are so very thankful to our sponsors @starstrings01, @jaydr, @blackdaisyft and @draysax for supporting us all this time. We hope to be able to continue to count on all of you.
Nevertheless, we are currently brainstorming about new ways to reward, with better prizes, so you all feel rewarded for putting effort in this community and for helping us raise health awareness on this blockchain. As you all know, we are aiming big here so it will take us some time and some challenging bumps on the road to get there.
It's in our plan to present you with a new reward system by the start of 2023.
3 - Improving our discord channel and review regulations of the community
We are also slowly improving our discord channel adding more bots to boost the fun and reward our members. We implemented a few weeks back a translation bot on discord to facilitate communication between members and more recently we've added so much more. Now, we have a little gaming bot with trivia questions about science! Yes, increasing the fun is our goal here too! We want joy and knowledge to be spread equally. With this new trivia bot our members have the opportunity to win rewards as well as fun airdrops!
Well, for those who get the right answers. Yes, knowledge pays off!
Additionally, we are currently reviewing our community regulations and rules to make it more clear that everyone can make a post in the community and participate in the prompts we will be promoting. We hope this way will also help us to increase activity levels.
4 - Improve curation
Currently, the official med-hive account has still little voting power, therefore is not favouring at all our ability to reward good posts made on our community with a fair upvote. For now, we have created a voting trail that anyone can submit by joining and help us give more upvotes to members that deserve it.
This idea is already live and you can join the trail using this link.
In the meantime, we are looking for sponsors and HP delegations for @med-hive account.
5 - Recruiting members to help us
There is a lot to be done for sure. We also are in need of more help, especially for people who have some experience participating in managing communities. Currently, both @jaydr and @blackdaisyft are behind the scenes giving it all to keep this community running. To be truthful to you all, it's not been easy since we are both also so new to Hive itself. We are learning as we go forward and learning from our failures.
For now, we are trying to clarify between us the tasks that need to be done, so we can then start the recruiting process with a more clear vision of what needs to be done and with what purpose. We ask for everyone's patience as we set this in motion.

Creo que la principal forma de incentivar a la comunidad a publicar en Hive-med será mayor probabilidad de que su publicación tenga un buen valor monetario, tal vez establecer unos criterios mínimos de curación en cuantas palabras, estética y demás y a las personas que participen en el tema del mes se les garantiza un boost de al menos 150 puntos, que equivale a 1 dolar,(yo hago una buena cantidad de puntos de ecency al mes , quizás yo y algunos más podríamos ayudar con eso) creo que eso puede motivar mucho. Si necesita ayuda en la comunidad o en discord no duden en contar conmigo he estado un poco ausente por aquí por temas ajenos pero ya volvemos a la acción. También las insignias en el canal de discord a los delegadores y los que están en el trail de curación de la comunidad, así como dejarle saber las ganancias de delegar a la comunidad en termino de %. Hello @ricardoeloy 😊 thank you so much for your suggestions, they are really valuable! I understand the need for a good monetary reward on posts but on the other hand, being a small community, it's still hard to get many upvotes... we are trying to look for ways to improve this and we've recently created a voting trail that everyone can join and thus getting more upvotes on other people's posts.
Nevertheless it is us, you and every member of the community that will make it thrive if we keep posting and engaging regardless of the monetary rewards 😊
It can be discouraging to make a post that takes a lot of effort and then getting less than 1$ for it I get it... Regardless, we are open for more suggestions on how to improve curation and get more rewards to our estimed authors 🙏

There are so many great niches on Hive and beautiful communities growing and gaining grounds. It will be beautiful to see the medical/health arm of Hive also standing tall as she delivers and shares beautiful knowledge with fellow Hivians.
