Should I stick with HIVE-SBI for my Zapfic Contest awards or just give away HIVE?
Zapfic Contest: Dump HIVE-SBI or stick with it?
I currently give away HIVE-SBI as part of the winners awards for my Zapfic contest.
I am aware that there is a faction of Hive who are against Hive-SBI. They think it is a form of vote bot and downvote people who use it as they feel that rewards should be only given by curation (ironically whenever they downvote me it tends to be on posts that have been curated!).
I am not going to stop using Hive-SBI because of downvotes. But I will switch to a different reward for Zapfic if those who use it would like me to.
This is the current prize pool (Option 1)
Often I award more Hive-SBI’s and more of the author rewards, but that is the minimum.
Would you like me to stick with Hive-SBI or would you prefer I switch to awards in HIVE?

Personally I think it is better to do whats convinent for you. You're the one hosting the contest so determine the price.

For what it’s worth, I’d vote Option 1 if only because I hate giving the anti-SBI wankers a win.
Yes. That's been my feeling up to now too. But they downvoted my zapfic contest so effectively took away prize money too. I will see what happens with the debate that has been going on (which I saw after I decided to run this poll!)

I honestly don't know what to tell you. I think you should decide because you are the one who promotes the contest and you will be the most affected by the decision.
But I must admit that it bothers me that the persecutions and hatreds of steemit have found a niche in hive, subtracting decentralization.
Yes. It bothers me too. I don't want to give in to bullies. But at the same time I don't want the prizes I give away to be worthless!

I have won the contest twice, and as far as I can remember. I only got upvote from SBI just once and it has being silent ever then. The only benefit comes from making me a beneficiary

SBI only gave me a vote once. And I have won this contest twice. I thought steem basic income votes for a very long period but haven't being receiving such benefits. I don't know if there is something i need do.
Vote frequency is driven by several factors, including HIVE price and reward pool behavior. Hive SBI recommends a subscription level of $20 (~80 units) to get daily upvotes and you're at ~$1.
That predicts upvotes about every 3 1/2 weeks. Picking up more prizes would increase your frequency, but I'm not at all offended if @felt.buzz decides to give HIVE prizes instead of Hive SBI prizes.
Your enlightenment makes it clear. I thought SBI votes daily once we are delegated and was wondering "why the reward, if we receive no upvote. Thanks for the reply"
I'm really torn @josephsavage. I have being giving SBI away as prizes for over 2 years now in ZapFic. And I really don't want to give in to the bullies.
But the constant attacks are draining. I can only imagine how you must be feeling.
I really haven't decided yet. I'm hoping that something can be resolved now that some of the whales have suddenly become interested... we'll see.
EDIT: I wrote this post before I saw @cryptoandcoffee's post. Since I have followed the @ihealyou trail. If there are ways we can tackle this together I would rather go in that direction.
It is very unfortunate that many of HBI (Hive SBI) users are attacked.
Actually HBI is a very good initiative but getting attacked for having it also not good.
What do you think about delegated HP to accounts?
Yes. I get downvoted at least one post each time I give away SBI. I don't mind that so much, but when it was three posts and one of them where 70% of the author rewards were going to other people it overstepped the mark.
Delegation? Yes, I've thought about that. I delegate 2nd and 3rd prize (a total of 500HP a week) for the 31 sentence story contest. I'll think about it.
Even though the vote seems to be headed in one direction at the moment I am still very much undecided. I really don't want to give in to the bullies.

Sir, do what you think best. Having more liquid Hive is a wonderful thing to look forward to, but as someone who has been involved with Zapfic for about a year, I can also attest to the benefits of the way you are doing it now. Delegations are nice too as an option 3.
I read @cryptoandcoffee's post ... perhaps whatever change you make may not have to be permanent... a couple of whales are paying attention now...

My thoughts ... As much as we love SBI/HIVE-SBI and as much as we would like to stand up for it, I think as long as you are getting penalized for giving away SBIs and until the clash-of-the-titans sort things out, I would suggest to give HIVE because it is not worth losing the earnings to these non-SBI-believers. It feels crap to get downvoted and it hurts, worst is if the post already doesn't earn much which at most times ours don't. It is sad that the one thing that helps little fishies here to earn a cent or two is being hit hard.

@felt.buzz if it is about the downvotes then go for Hive. But the fact is that I don't mind HBI but no point of it coming at your expense.
