Do You Support To Fund Expanding Liquidity For HIVE Assets?

I have been thinking about the value of having THORchain liquidity for HIVE. At the current state, HIVE is not easy to access without going through centralized parties. It is the same when it comes to getting HIVE out and taking some of the profits. People face financial troubles and a places like Venezuela, HIVE can become a life saver when used effectively.

We are currently living in a state of being in a walled garden of many great things including zero transaction fees and a array of extremely well designed DAPPs. We need to get people onboard these projects. @ecoinstant recently asked funding from DHF to create a SWAP.HBD:SWAP.BUSD pool. This is an extremely low risk pair as both of them are stablecoins. I would be more interested in a more volatile pair. But at the end of the day, the underlying idea is the same. More liquidity and accessibility for HIVE assets.

Read Proposal 206

@nathanmars is supporting the project as you can read here. and @ecoinstant himself further elaborated on his reasons here. Go and read them as I don't endorse blindly voting in governance. You must do your own research.

We Have Built and Barely Anybody Came!

HIVE has less active users than it used to at its peak. The price is less than 1/6 of the peak of STEEM. Other projects with much weaker fundamentals have overtaken us. Most people are utterly unaware of HIVE.

Does it sound like the speaker is aware of the biggest blockchain game on the planet? Do you feel the hype for HIVE gaming? Most of blockchain gaming hype I'm seeing for is Axie Infinity.

I Have Not Made My Strong Argument

Got take a look at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=crypto+social+media Go ahead and try similar search queries. We as a community must be ashamed of ourselves about how little the cryptosphere knows about us. Development work here has been like a masturbation that barely spend any money to give the right financial incentives to DAPP developers and we are certainly spending next to nothing on marketing ourselves.

Let Us At Least Get Some Market Liquidity

@ecoinstant is not making anything out of this. @gerber is not making anything out of this. They are doing all this work to support all of us in the community. I strongly urge you to take a very good look at the utility of using DHF to fund liquidity pools. The people behind are already trustworthy individuals who have been a part of the community for years.

I can't understand why Steem was worth $8 at one point and we celebrate when $HIVE is at $1 ... Hive isn't even started reaching its true potential!

There is so much untapped resource and creativity within the community, but some days I feel like the community would rather behave like a frat house with free weed than a startup

You made a very good description right here. This is a link I clicked on one of the Brave ads I received: https://metabuild.devpost.com That is marketing + helping out DAPP developers. HIVE has ditched any real marketing and many whales frown upon using DHF to fund individual projects. They want to keep the funds to develop HIVE base layer.

This is the wrong way to maximize the utility of the fund. DHF should be primarily looked at as if it were a Venture Capital Fund. Take a look at how Fantom is doing it. They have a massive developer fund to bring in more DAPP developers. That is how they managed to grow so fast. They have DAPPs which are bringing in more users and they are spending more than HIVE when it comes to marketing and getting themselves noticed in the cryptosphere.

Even those who are looking for a decentralized social media have no clue about HIVE. That is how bad we have done as a project. Even the perfect target audience does not know about us.

Let's do this!

We have most other things well taken care of. It is time to make it easy to get involved with HIVE.

I think it's better to have the expanded liquidity so I think the proposal is a good thing. Can it fail? Yes it could but we will never know how well it will go without it.

If it does succeed, we know that it is something we can and must replicate.

I think the DHF is already spread quite thin.

We have nearly 46K HBD left out of the daily budget and the project by @ecoinstant only ask for 329 HBD per day (all of them goes to the liquidity pool). Can you explain by what you mean by "DHF is already spread quite thin"?

Six years after the launch of the original main chain of this crypto-currency and new user couldn't post once they get an account without a delegation from me; Hive on Board doesn't have resource credits because Hive on Board doesn't have enough HP delegated to it; and there is no universal chat system for Hive users. It's no wonder we end up in the dust from things like Parler, and Gab. These are socialized concerns. It benefits everyone to have many contributing and buying and interacting but not those who invest. This is why DHF should fund these things.

Now a liquidity pool is really something that benefits all but can also be made to benefit the liquidity providers. A system should be setup so that it is profitable for those putting liquidity in. If it's profitable, the participants will profit and it proves itself. If not, then it is only those who decided it was worth the risk who lose. One could start with a trading bot. This is what Blurt had for a while until there was enough liquidity that organically grew into market interest.
