The cultivation and care of Bonsai goes back to millenary times. It is an art of much patience and dedication through time whose result are true works of art between the human and the divine. Bonsai is not a decorative ornament, it is the tangible way to remind us daily that we can become beautiful beings when we reach the balance for which we must go through several processes and understand why we go through these stages.
El tronco de un bonsái es la base que sustenta sus ramas y su follaje, es esa parte clave encargada de unir lo terrenal con lo intangible, por tanto ha de ser grueso, sometido en ocasiones a circunstancias que lo robustezcan, y aunque cuando se alambre un tronco pareciera que se le está haciendo daño, si se hace de forma correcta le ayudará a tomar formas siniguales, hermosas que conducirán el crecimiento de la planta.
Este proceso tal cual ocurre en el hombre cuando pasa por algunas vicisitudes, algunas muy duras que pueden llegar a herir, pero una vez cicatrizados somos más fuertes y nuestras convicciones firmes para seguir en el camino de la vida.
The trunk of a bonsai is the base that sustains its branches and foliage, it is that key part in charge of uniting the earthly with the intangible, therefore it has to be thick, submitted in occasions to circumstances that strengthen it, and although when a trunk is wired it seems that it is being harmed, if it is done in a correct way it will help it to take unique, beautiful forms that will lead the growth of the plant.
This process occurs in man when he goes through some vicissitudes, some very hard that can hurt, but once healed we are stronger and our convictions are firm to continue on the path of life.
La poda en el bonsái es un proceso que le ayuda a eliminar las hojas que están creciendo de forma desordenada rompiendo el equilibrio. Al eliminar ese tipo de ramas o follaje le permitimos a la planta redistribuir mejor el agua y nutrientes que la planta absorbe de la tierra y así mantenerse viva. Este proceso no se hace frecuentemente, debe realizarse cuando finaliza el invierno para que la planta esté lista para renovarse en primavera.
Si queremos hacer crecer nuestra parte espiritual debemos aplicar un proceso de poda en nosotros, apartarnos un poco del ruido diario, evaluar los diversos aspectos que conforman nuestra vida y evaluar con qué nos quedamos y con qué no, se trata de vaciar un poco la maleta del equipaje que nos evita avanzar.
Bonsai pruning is a process that helps to eliminate the leaves that are growing in a disorderly way breaking the balance. By removing such branches or foliage we allow the plant to better redistribute the water and nutrients that the plant absorbs from the soil and thus stay alive. This process is not done frequently, it should be done at the end of winter so that the plant is ready to renew itself in spring.
If we want to make our spiritual part grow we must apply a pruning process in us, move away a little from the daily noise, evaluate the various aspects that make up our life and evaluate what we keep and what we do not, it is about emptying a little the suitcase of the baggage that prevents us from moving forward.
A veces un bonsái crece mucho, desarrolla un intrincado sistema de raíces llevando a cambiar la maceta que le contiene para resguardar la integridad y crecimiento de la planta.
En el ser humano ocurre muchas veces igual, a través del tiempo adquirimos una serie de vivencias, desarrollamos habilidades, las cuales si las sabemos aprevechar nos llevan al crecimiento y por tando debemos cambiar de espacio para que este crecimiento sea acorde a nuestro entorno. Si en algún momento sientes que ya no perteneces a un lugar esa es una señal para cambiar de maceta, no es egoísmo, se trata de ser felices, no temerle al cambio y seguir desarrollándonos como seres que aspiramos a la plenitud.
Sometimes a bonsai grows a lot, develops an intricate root system leading to change the pot that contains it to protect the integrity and growth of the plant.
In the human being it happens many times the same, through time we acquire a series of experiences, we develop abilities, which if we know how to take advantage of them lead us to growth and therefore we must change the space so that this growth is in accordance with our environment. If at some point you feel that you no longer belong to a place that is a sign to change pots, it is not selfishness, it is about being happy, not being afraid of change and continue to develop as beings who aspire to fulfillment.
Como todo ser vivo el Bonsái necesita de ser regada para poder vivir y realizar sus funciones, pero hay que saber cuándo y cómo hacerlo. Poca agua hace que pierda sus hojas y se marchiten sus ramas más finas. Abundante agua ahoga las raíces, estructuras fundamentales para llevar nutrientes a toda la planta. Por tanto si queremos llevar esta analogía a nuestra vida, el riego es al amor, las enseñanzas, el cariño y los consejos de las personas que transitan por nuestra vida. Son elementos que necesitamos para crecer pero en abundancia saturan y frenan nuestra evolución así que es bueno estar concientes para regar la vida de otros pero eso sí saber cuándo y cómo hacerlo.
Like all living things, the Bonsai needs to be watered in order to live and perform its functions, but you have to know when and how to do it. Too little water makes it lose its leaves and its thinner branches wither. Too much water drowns the roots, which are fundamental structures for carrying nutrients to the whole plant. Therefore, if we want to take this analogy to our life, watering is to love, teachings, affection and advice from the people who pass through our life. These are elements that we need to grow but in abundance saturate and slow down our evolution so it is good to be aware to water the life of others but know when and how to do it.
Así que cada vez de ahora en adelante que tengas frente a ti un Bonsái estaré segura que tu apreciación hacia él cambiará, no sólo lo admirarás por su belleza, también lo harás por el largo camino que recorre para llegar a esa perfección y mostrarnos que nosotros podemos ser igual de bellos cuando transitamos de forma consciente por los procesos de la vida que nos permiten alcanzar ese tan anhelado equilibrio.
So every time from now on that you have a Bonsai in front of you I will be sure that your appreciation towards it will change, not only will you admire it for its beauty, but also for the long road it travels to reach that perfection and show us that we can be just as beautiful when we consciously go through the processes of life that allow us to reach that longed-for balance.
