Benefits of Black Pepper Tea!

Hey beautiful people, was experimenting with some tea making shenanigans today for optimal immune system health, and came across a combo wombo that i found to be particularly tasty. It was only later on that I googled all of the benefits to my health provided by the concoction i had produced, and realized I had to share it on here!

Here is the ingredient list that i used:

  • Organic Japanese Hojicha green tea (loose), this is kind of the filler tea; any green tea would work
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper (powerful stuff so you don't need much!)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (this is the 'amplifiyer' for the black pepper, but also has benefits of it's own, see later)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh chopped ginger (has a nice flavor when chopped fresh and in combination with the lemon and honey)
  • Juice of half a lemon squeezed (for a bit of freshness)
  • 1 Tbsp Raw honey (Wrap it all up with some sweet raw honey, up to you how much you want to put :D)

First thing i want to say about this tea, is that if you are feeling a bit under the radar or low on energy, this tea will give you some much needed zing to spark up your day, right from the first sip!

It's super simple to make, and takes around 5 minutes of prep time, which mostly included just walking around the kitchen looking for the ingredients.

Here are some of the benefits included from the ingredients!:

Green tea: - high in antioxidants, polyphenols (healthy bioactive compound) and boosts metabolic rate source

Black pepper: Boosts absorption of nutrients, has high levels of healthy bioactive plant compounds like inflammation and antioxidants, and could also be beneficial for out guts, and lowers cholesterol source

For example, studies have shown that black pepper may increase the absorption of the active component of turmeric — curcumin — by up to 2,000%

Turmeric: "Dramatically Increases the Antioxidant capacity of the body" , increases brain function, helps prevent cancer and lower risk of heart diseases source

Ginger: lowers blood sugar levels, contains Gingerol, a powerful bioactive substance that helps fight infections, and that is high in antioxidants source

Lemon juice: High in vitamin C, fiber, supports heart health, improves digestive health source

Raw honey: Helps soothe the throat, has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, is high in phytonutrients (originating from plants) source

I hope you enjoy this tea! Recently it has been getting quite hot where i live, so will probably make this next time in a jug and cool it down so it becomes a refresher! It's really delicious, especially if you like black pepper like I do, so give it a try! Stay safe everybody, much love.

Thank you so much! Yeah my mom actually also said the same thing! She was like "how can you put so many things in a tea!" and i said lol thanks mom at-least its super healthy and then she was like well ok then give me a cup haha!

Oh, so easy and, on the contrary of @artemislives, I feel I can totally taste it 😍 plus I have all the ingredients at the moment (except for honey) so I'm going to try it todayyyyyy!!!
