What a great set-up you have! We've not tried the Hugel method/thing yet. Sounds interesting. What kind of submersible pump do you use? We are looking at getting one to draw water from our creek and would love a recommendation....

So the hugel mound was actually made unintentionally. We had to clear a fair amount of trees and brush to make room for where the house sits and the trees needed to go somewhere so I was like pile them over along the tree line. Then when we were done spreading the top soil for our lawn there was a fair bit of marginal soil that needed to go somewhere so I was like pile it on the trees.... LoL Of course I knew what a hugelkultur was but it wasn't something planned.
As for the submersible pump I can't remember the brand. Will have to look the next time I move it. Thanks for stopping by!
