For as long as i can remember, my drawings have been full of eyes... I have always felt attracted to this particular part of the human body. Many have asked me why? The truth is that i never knew the true sense or meaning of my strange obsession, i have already mentioned it before. At first glance it could be just for taste or vanities of artists, you can observe that many do it too. But if i look back, if i enter into a state of meditation and connection with my past self, with that little girl who scratched absolutely everything around her with the desire to express emotions that perhaps she did not understand, right there i can find a thousand reasons, psychological and spiritual, for my eagerness to place them even in meaningless things, for the emotion i feel when i contemplate them even in a simple photograph. So i must open my third window, that invisible but extremely sensitive eye that allows me to perceive something beyond this limited sense of seeing, then i close my physical eyes and discover a world full of thoughts, memories and answers. It amazes me how this mysterious eye can fuse, perceive all the senses. Without knowing it, as a child i opened this window to receive my first therapies that prepared me for the future:

Yes, so it was for a long time, those eyes, so beautiful and watery, that pupil so dark and bright, that iris so magical whose colors could reveal the hidden galaxies of their owners...But send me your eyes in a photo, let me capture them on paper because in your face, i can't admire them, it's too much for me. Right at that point, it all began. Although i enjoyed being the weirdo everywhere, in my moments of deep childish reflection i questioned the why of so many things, why a simple look, why a simple social interaction could become so overwhelming and threatening to me.

I will never forget the remarks that my elementary school teachers put on my report cards at the end of the school year, every year the same story was repeated. I didn't know that since pre-school the same thing was happening and that my mother was offended because they suggested that maybe i needed psychological help. In my last year of elementary school, i overheard a conversation between my favorite teacher and my mother on the same topic... I could have felt sad, but i didn't, i was a weird little girl with an old lady's mind and i said to myself: I have to do something because my mother won't do it for me.

For years i had to disguise myself as a therapist, pretending to be my own psychologist, my counselor; i don't remember what my methods or therapies were but i know that i had serious conversations with myself at an early age. My little game worked halfway but i confess that at the end of the day, i felt emotionally exhausted. My strange fantasy and desire was to be able to see a real therapist, a specialist who would analyze my brain, i fantasized about an electroencephalogram, i know it sounds strange but i was a rare child who admitted that mental health and specialists in this field are very important and that one cannot be truly "spiritual" if i am not able to take care of my own physical body without downplaying the importance of any of its organs, such as the brain, which for some strange reason is ignored. Why should i ignore and put last in my priorities the organ that controls my whole body?

All children and adolescents want to turn 18-21 but i always said i wanted to turn 30 because at that age i would begin to live, i said it with all the seriousness in the world, it was a statement, not a simple childish wish. Today i try to understand the girl i was and the truth is that i don't understand anything, how on earth did i know all that.

I was always an extremely silent creature, i never liked to talk much, in fact, for many years i used drawing to create a kind of bubble for myself in crowded places, it was a strange therapy because i could isolate myself and at the same time create a more relaxed environment for this scary social interaction. At each stage, i created new therapies for myself to "survive", i never thought this would create the perfect space for dissatisfaction, depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues. The latter was hard for me to accept but i always patted myself on the back to endure reaching my longed-for 30s.

I always knew that my path would not be easy, i will not specify details because i think this is already going too long... But when i turned 19, i realized that my therapies were no longer working, that my invisible problem was going to get out of control, that no meditation, no invocation to Snow White and the 7 dwarfs would help me with my nervous system on alert. I urgently needed a specialist, a real therapist.

I started having chronic panic and anxiety attacks but i didn't know what was wrong with me, i started having excessive salivation and i couldn't sleep or go to bed because i was choking or suffocating. It was frustrating that even at the hospital they couldn't help me. It was like that for 6 years and as the saying goes "Third time's the charm " ; that's how it was. My third attack was complicated with psychotic episodes, claustrophobia, agoraphobia, i couldn't even tolerate aromas, for a few days i had to move to another room because i "couldn't breathe" in mine, that strange salivation turned out to be convulsions, on one occasion my legs went totally numb, and i started to hit them, sometimes in the early morning as i could not sleep, nor go to bed, I began to feel a strange need to hit my head and pull my hair, although it sounds like a joke, it wasn't.Now that I think about it, sleeping simply turned out to be dangerous because my nervous system was not working properly, as if my body was a ship without captain in the middle of a storm.

I remember that just at dawn i fell asleep from exhaustion, in a very uncomfortable position, i had a strange and very vivid dream where i fell into the water from a bridge and began to drown, a voice in the depths called me and told me: "Just let yourself go, you will see that you will not feel more pain. I trusted that voice, it was not a scary voice. I was used to having premonitory dreams, for a while i practiced lucid dreaming, onirism, astral travel but this confused me because it did not feel good, i felt how water was coming in through my mouth and nose, that was not pleasant and while i was trying to relax during the process, my inner voice was questioning things, i was trying but i noticed that the only option to "let go" was to drown myself and i didn't want to feel that, it was uncomfortable, so i used my "totem" to wake me up from the dream (as in the "Inception" film) and it was difficult, i couldn't wake up. To my surprise, when i finally opened my physical eyes, i was drowning for real but with saliva and mucus. And yes, at the end of it all, my crises were accentuated by my horrible terror of dying that way.

After so many years of silent struggles, the moment i always dreamed of arrived, to meet real specialists and therapists, it was not easy because i also discovered that within the medical world they ignore and even ridicule mental health. That was a bucket of cold water. During this process i visited many doctors, none of them knew what i had, they did not even suggest a possible appropriate specialist, knowing that there is neurology, clinical psychology, psychiatry, etc. Then, when my family tried to get a psychologist, none of them knew how to treat my problem, they rejected my case. I wonder how on earth did they get degrees? Because without me being a specialist, i developed a strange ability to detect psychological problems in people, i could even tell them what kind of specialists to look for and i have not studied medicine, it is something incomprehensible to me, i think it has more to do with empathy than with study.

Me pregunto ¿cómo rayos consiguieron licenciaturas?

At the end of my ordeal, i met a homeopath who just by looking at me told me that my emotions were killing me, that my problem was my nervous system but that i should look for a specialist to help me with that. He checked the levels of all my organs and indeed my nervous system was down to 20%. He prescribed me some natural medicines that would help me to rest and for the pains in my spine. Something that shocked me was that during the consultation, he did not allow my mother and grandmother to accompany me, he expelled them from the place and told them that they were the ones who had me like this, that i was different... I could not believe it, he did not know us. He also had his third window wide open.Something i will never forget that it was december 19 if i am not mistaken and the doctor was about to go on vacation, i remember i was worried because i felt i would not make it to the new year if i did not make this appointment. My skin looked pale and i felt as if I had been drained of all my energy.

I met my clinical psychologist almost by "accident". He was cosmic too, he was a magician like the previous one; he had studies in neuropsychology, quantum medicine and to my surprise he was a visual artist too. It seemed particular to me that he had many books of natural medicine, incense everywhere and it turned out that his therapies were not conventional, he did regressions and had an artifact called brain synchronizer, depending on the patient's problem he adjusted a special frequency to level the brain waves. It was something surprising and strange at the same time. But that was not all, when our problems go far beyond simple trauma, neurological tests and medications are necessary. My problem was a cocktail of all that, a brain dysfunction that needed to be studied through an electroencephalogram, anticonvulsant drugs and alternative therapies for the emotional part.

  • I always treasure every stage of my life, i did not come to this world blind, i always tried to open that window, that invisible eye to decode those messages and learnings hidden behind so many obstacles, problems, illnesses, traumas, sufferings and burdens that should not be on my back but that unintentionally ended up there.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I also learned that victimization is the worst thing someone should do. I mention this because during this process i realized that many adults take advantage of their problems, traumas, disorders to manipulate others, it is the most common thing. It has become fashionable to romanticize disorders, depression, anxiety and that bothers me a lot. The one who really wants to heal and overcome obstacles will not make excuses, will prepare his/her mind and body to receive the knowledge and help of all the people that life itself will put in his/her way. He/her will not say the famous phrase "That's just the way i am, accept me".We are not traumas, we are not diseases, we are not a disorder, that is not part of our identity. Unfortunately, those who victimizes themselves become a victimizers. Maybe this is the reason why i don't usually talk about this, because i don't want to be like them, since i was a child i took these things very seriously.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I learned that there is a specialist, a therapist for each patient, i cannot say that some of them are "bad" only because do not accept x particular case.I learned that natural and alternative medicine is wonderful, yes. In fact, it's often my favorite. But in these cases, it is not enough. A mantra will not solve these problems; merging both medicines is vital and will be one of the best investments we will ever make.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I learned that I had to really accept myself with everything and my decomposed brain (hahaha), because during a session, my therapist made me realize that I did not accept myself as I was and with my brain dysfunction. This was a very important part because it cannot be cured and I had to learn to live with it, to not force myself or subject myself to things or situations that I know can hurt me emotionally, to cause panic or anxiety attacks just because someone else finds it unimportant or exaggerated.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I learned and discovered that part of my conflict with eye contact and social interaction was not just because of something cerebral, it's that i am what they call an "empath" and i could feel the emotions and energies of the world around me and that is definitely still frustrating at times, because it's not easy to see and feel so much naked hypocrisy among other worse things.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I learned and discovered that many of my stomach problems, excessive weight gain, problems digesting certain foods were due to energetic blockages,
negative and closed mental states, and also because i used to build emotional shields due to harassment and pressure from my family.

separadors-ojos.png

  • And one of the most valuable teachings was when those mysterious windows of my past lives were opened for me, it was something that intrigued me but i did not believe in it. Nor did i understand its importance and relevance in this life. But it was my decision to open it, because every time i meditated and read my oracles, the same message was always repeated: I must return to the origin. I even remembered dreams that i had when i was very young and right at that moment i understood, it was the same message. But still i did not know what i should do. Just when i prepared my mind and launched that desire to my guides, it happened for several weeks.

separadors-ojos.png

  • I learned that regressions are not a game and that they will not show you what you want to see or what your mind has created because of fantastic beliefs of fairy tales etc. Everything i saw was painful, my ego suffered the most, but in all those vulnerable women, suffering but with such a great desire to live i could understand where my premature adulthood came from, my strong, maternal and protective character with women, my problem with relating and creating emotional bonds with men and my mother's obsessive fear that someone could cause me terrible harm (specifically a man), everything is connected. It was raw to see all of that but liberating.

separadors-ojos.png

  • Something i learned or rather noticed during these times of virus and quarantine is that many people who have died from covid, had symptoms of anxiety, depression etc. and something that causes me great sadness is that they only give importance to treat the virus but not what the virus and the fear of dying cause in the mental, emotional and spiritual state of a human being. It saddens me that during the process psychologists and alternative doctors do not accompany them. Many would still be alive.

So was part of my journey, a journey that still continues, learning has been infinite, i could not name them all or maybe yes but it would be a book and not a blog. All that was during my 27-30 years, i had to wait all those years of my life to be able to meet those teachers/guides. My psychologist was like my "Gandalf" ( The wizard from Lord of the Rings). 3 was always my lucky number, i had mentioned it before about that childish idea that i am from Orion and my 3 favorite stars. It was just as i thought as a child, since my 30's i started a new life. I think I'll leave it at that. I wrote too much.

This digital illustration is basically a more complete version of a sketch i did many, many years ago. I used Adobe Photoshop. I wanted to keep it in grayscale because the technique i always loved is graphite. At that time i didn't finish my drawings and limited myself to pencil only. Even so, symmetry, geometry were always part of the basis of them, it was not something intentional. Nowadays, pointillism is vital in everything i do, because during my creative process my anxiety and certain obsessive-compulsive behaviors are triggered, i find that making dots or repetitive figures calms me down.
