How to prevent burnout and overcome perfectionism

People strive to look perfect, to always do everything well, to give the famous everything or nothing (which often does not even seem to be enough).
They seek daily to have the best physical features, the best material goods, the most extensive knowledge in different areas…. They try to be able to do everything at the same time, work in excess to be the best….

It's time to stop !! This is exhausting. What the hell is going on with the generality of the West?

We are all here to grow, but without competition with others, but with our previous versions of ourselves, in our own time. We do not need to be or have more each day to feel validation, we do not need to be better than the other or to know more than the other, even because it does not exist! Different paths bring together different experiences with different teachings.

It is time to reevaluate the way we are treating ourselves. Why do we find it easier to accept the faults of others than ours?

You do not need to pretend to be perfect or to punch yourself behind that reality. It is all right with beings as you are, for that is true perfection. You will grow in your time, and your evolution has nothing to do with the evolution of the other.

As usual, here is a photo for you to relax and admire this place.
It's near where I live.

If you noticed where is a phrase carved on the stone dirt. It's written in Portuguese (I'm from Portugal) and it reads "A água é o sangue da terra" which translates to "The water it's the blood of the earth".

We could be so much more happy if we werent trying to validate ourselves all the time! Great food for thought post.. thanks for sharing!

Yes, Accepting who we are, not battle against ourselves. Every time we think we need to change, we are saying to ourselves that we are not perfect.
Also, I think it's impossible for someone to be perfect, so it's a treadmill having that goal.
So, let's all be imperfect and unique! 😊
Thank you for your support. Have a nice day!

It is true that perfectionism can hold us back from so much, which makes us feel deflated. If we don't learn to overcome it we get stuck in a perpetual cycle of procrastination and constantly berating ourselves.

Great reflective post, thank you for sharing.

yeah, and procrastination it's another buzz word from today's society. Seems to everybody lacks the confidence and motivation to pursue something or just do something. Maybe we care too much about our feelings instead of getting things done.
