¡Hola a todos! Quizás ya soy reiterativa, pero es que mi solar me encanta, y si bien es cierto este año no está en todo su esplendor, pues como al resto del planeta le han caído plagas y el tema de la lluvia ha sido extremadamente irregular, (como dije antes, a consecuencia de la explotación minera en el malvado Arco Minero de mi país, Venezuela), hay ciertas plantas que guardan su belleza. Este año no me animé a sembrar como lo hago siempre, quizás presentía el desequilibrio ambiental y ecológico que se iba a presentar, por eso no quise plantar muchas semillas. Sin embargo, hay algunas que nacieron espontáneamente y otras, que por ser resistentes sí planté. A continuación, y tomando en cuenta la invitación hecha por @simplymike, les ofrezco algunas fotos de las plantas presentes en Agosto 2020.
Hi all! This year I did not dare to sow as I always do, perhaps I sensed the environmental and ecological imbalance that was going to arise, so I did not want to plant many seeds. However, there are some that were born spontaneously and others that, because they were resistant, I did plant. Next, and taking into account the invitation made by @simplymike, I offer you some photos of the plants present in August 2020.

Hola, me alegra ver que estas rodeada de naturaleza maravillosa, amo las granadas , aunque no recuerdo cuando fue la ultima vez que comí una, ya no suelo verlas mucho; Me reí con lo de la mata de tomate que creció espontáneamente, hace poco nos paso por acá, se colaron unas semillas de papaya y tomate al compostero, y ahora están germinando por todo el terreno. 🤣

Hola @mixbar.show ¡que bueno que viste mi post! Sí, soy privilegiada por contar con un espacio verde dentro de mi hogar. La planta de granada que tengo la obtuve a partir de una granada rosada que me obsequiaron y era tan dulce y grande, que guardé unas semillas, las sembré y obtuve 5 planticas. Regalé 4 y dejé una para mí, que es la que siempre fotografío, ya está muy grande, como de tres metros de alto y carga mucho; de hecho, los árbolitos de granada y de guayaba son los únicos que cargaron bien este año. El resto de las plantas o no cargaron o lo hicieron pobremente. La matica de tomates, creo por el tamaño de la hoja, que es tomate zurrero o sea, del más pequeñito, que es más chiquito que el cherry y supongo fue un pajarito que pasó y depositó allí la semilla. Ojalá y puedas trasplantar las maticas que salieron en tu compostero. Un gran abrazo.
Hi @ mixbar.show, how good you saw my post! Yes, I am privileged to have a green space within my home. The pomegranate plant that I have, I got it from a pink pomegranate that they gave me and it was so sweet and big, that I saved some seeds, sowed them and got 5 plants. I gave 4 and left one for me, which is the one I always photograph, it is already very large, about three meters high and carries a lot; in fact, the pomegranate and guava trees are the only ones that loaded well this year. The rest of the plants either did not load or did it poorly. The tomato matica, I think because of the size of the leaf, which is a "zurrero" tomato, that is, the smallest tomato, which is smaller than the cherry tomato and I suppose it was a little bird that passed by and deposited the seed there. Hopefully and you can transplant the maticas that came out in your compost bin. A big hug

Wow Sirena!!! You have plants I could only dream of! I'm excited I have the polytunnel as I'm going to try growing turmeric as well. how big do those plants grow? Thanks for sharing with us! I love the garden journal tag!
Hello @riverflows I saw your polytunnel and it can be very useful to protect the plants from the elements and pests. Turmeric plants grow approximately 70 cm tall. I recommend that they have width at the base, because they spread producing the tubers and require space for it. A big hug.
Fabi, excelente iniciativa ambiental. Es verdad lo que dices, por culpa de algunos desastres mineros en Venezuela, la situación ambiental en esos lados han cambiado mucho. Por suerte vivimos en un país muy abundante de áreas verdes y áreas donde la naturaleza abundan. Es bonito saber que haces bastante esta acción de ayudar al ambiente. Por cierto, bonitas fotos. ¡Holaaa! Gracias por leer mi post y pasar viendo mi solar. Sí, este solar es mágico, de hecho creo que paso más tiempo allí que en la casa. Pero como expliqué en la publicación, este año cayeron unas plagas terribles que dejaron totalmente desnudas a las matas de cereza, se comieron el cogollo de las musáceas y por eso las que se recuperaron no cargaron lo suficiente, y de paso no ha habido suficiente agua. No he podido controlar las plagas porque los bioinsumos no los consigo aquí y no he dispuesto del recurso suficiente para ello. Tampoco usaría agroquímicos porque me opongo radicalmente a su uso y no mataría a las abejas que tengo en el solar, así pues, que me resigné este año y espero ir resolviendo poco a poco. Y sí, todo este desastre es un "regalo" del Arco Minero, como si el oro se comiera...¡que desgracia!

But as I explained in the publication, this year some terrible pests fell that left the cherry bushes completely naked, they ate the bud of the musaceae and that is why those that recovered did not load enough, and incidentally there has not been enough water . I have not been able to control the pests because the bio-inputs are not available here and I have not had enough resources for it. Nor would I use agrochemicals because I am radically opposed to their use and it would not kill the bees that I have on the site, so I resigned myself this year and I hope to solve it little by little. And yes, all this disaster is a "gift" from the Mining Arc, as if the gold was food ... what a disgrace!
¡que bonito solar! Sueño con tener también uno propio o una especie de espacio en el cual pueda yo cosechar mi propia comida! No sé si ya hayas hecho pero me encantaría leer un post en el cual expliques un poco el funcionamiento o mantenimiento del mismo. Gracias
Gracias por leer mi publicación y darle un vistazo a mi solar. Me agrada tu sugerencia, la tendré en cuenta. He cosechado frutos de mi solar (mamones, tamarindo, yuca, topochos, cambures, granadas, cerezas rojas y amarillas, ají, cúrcuma, albahaca, limones, guayabas, brusca negra), sin embargo ha sido una constante lucha por el tema del agua, ya que tengo 7 años que no la recibo por tuberías (vivo en el centro del pueblo) y la compra de la misma es muy costosa; por tanto es una limitante para poder aprovechar al 100% este espacio tan bonito. Este año ha sido muy difícil, pues entre plagas realmente destructivas y la irregularidad en las lluvias (cortesía del Arco Minero), ha mermado la productividad de las plantas. El año próximo, en la época más seca que supongo será entre marzo y abril, espero estar abriendo un aljibe. Así sí podré sembrar todo lo que quiero. Un abrazo.

I have harvested fruits from my land (suckers, tamarind, yucca, molechos, bananas, pomegranates, red and yellow cherries, chili, turmeric, basil, lemons, guavas, black brusque), however it has been a constant struggle for the water issue. Since 7 years ago, I do not receive water through pipes (I live in the center of town) and the purchase of it is very expensive; therefore it is a limitation to be able to take 100% of this beautiful space. This year has been very difficult, because between really destructive pests and irregular rains (courtesy of the Arco Minero), the productivity of the plants has decreased. Next year, in the driest time that I suppose will be between March and April, I hope to be opening a cistern. So I can sow everything I want. A hug.
