Staying Positive During Difficult Times — It MATTERS!

Every Day, we get bombarded with news stories, opinions, theories and all manners of other inputs of a predominantly negative nature.

It's easy to point fingers at "The Coronavirus" or "The Pandemic," or "The Quarantine," but the sad truth is that even if these things weren't dominating our daily information streams, the media would find something else to whip up a good head of fear in people.

Even those who think of themselves as positive persons sometimes find it difficult to not get sucked down into all the negativity.

How do we stay positive, when we are surrounded by so much negativity?

How do we keep an even keel, when it feels like there's "something to be worried about," around every corner?

How do we keep ourselves from falling into a place of fear?

Positive Doesn't Mean Ignoring Reality!

In many cases, what helps most is stepping back from it all and having a look at where we are directing our energies and intent.

Without a doubt, there is a troubling and potentially dangerous situation unfolding in our world.

But that's not the only thing that's happening out there... and consequently, it's also not the only thing we should be giving our attention to!

What's often helpful is to back away a bit from thoughts about the things we "can't do," and directing more attention at what we can do.

Around here — for example — we are creating a larger than ever vegetable garden, and we have been putting a lot of energy into that. And we can set our intent towards enjoying a wonderful harvest of fresh greens and veggies in the months ahead.

We have also been working on quite a few projects and (old!) plans we can do from home that have otherwise been put off for months and even years. And it feels really good to finally get some of all those loose ends taken care of!

If you look around your own life, there are undoubtedly things you can find to keep you engaged in doing something that has a positive impact on your life and allows you to focus on something other than the chaos the world!

As often as not, you can find a measure of healing simply in being aware of the "holes" that may drag you into negative thinking... and then take steps to steer around them. It doesn't mean you're sticking your head in the proverbial sand... just that you remain cognizant of the fact that there is more going on than just Covid-19 dread!

Bright Blessings to All!

This is such an important and timely post!! Focus on what we CAN do! I'm actually really enjoying The Great Pause - if it wasn't for the lack of income and the governmental restrictions on travel, I could happily live this way most of the time. I'm seeing Covid as a Bright Blessing, actually. A gift to humanity to reconsider.

We're actually enjoying it around here, as well. This post was partially prompted by the fact that we're learning that we are really not suffering very much "hardship," as a result of current events. And yes, this is also a great invitation to just sit in stillness and consider what really matters...

Bright Blessings!

@whitelightxpress thanks for sharing this piece. It's very important to stay positive at a trying time like this. People should hold themselves as one and forget about race, culture and tradition that varies from one another. We just have to stay positive and hold ourselves together to conquer.

There is enough negativity in the world without us deliberately going out and chasing after fearful stories and news... all the "good things" in life didn't suddenly vanish, just because there's a pandemic.

Bright Blessings!

Hello @whitelightxpress, this is @notconvinced on behalf of Natural Medicine.

Great advice. My method is a bit more selfish. I simply do my thing, not caring about the rules of others.😀

Thanks for the support @notconvinced; we pretty much do our own thing, as well... although I often just don't have the personal bandwidth to get at cross purposes with people; if they want to adhere to their "stuff," they can go right ahead.

Bright Blessings!

I concur wholeheartedly. Thanks for this great post.

Thanks! Seems like the "official narrative" is all about keeping people in fear and focusing on dangers around every corner... although even that seems to be changing a little as people become more able to see through the smoke screens.

Bright Blassings!
