Cooking Savory and Sweet Indonesian Fried Rice | Plant-based Cooking Challenge.

Fried rice is a typical food from Indonesia which is very famous for its deliciousness, the food is easy to find in various regions of the country. The way of serving this food is very easy, processed with stir-fry cooking techniques, this dish is the main menu for the Indonesian people at night.

We can even find fried rice dishes in several world countries such as Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Thailand, Suriname and also even popular in the Netherlands.

On this occasion, I will give you several ways to serve simple fried rice into a savory and delicious meal. As usual, I take part in the #plantbased cooking challenge every week by @justinparke for this time the fried rice menu is my choice.

I prepared this simple fried rice menu using natural spices which are very good for health. Here's how to serve simple Indonesian fried rice dishes.

Cooking Supplies:

Before serving fried rice, the first thing we need to do is prepare kitchen utensils, these utensils will later be used as equipment for cooking fried rice. The kitchen utensils I use are as follows:

Stove.
Cooking pot or frying pan.
Cooking spoon.
Knife.
Cutting board.
Plate.
Spoon.
Spice grinder.
Food bowl.

Make sure the kitchen utensils are in good condition and clean before use.

Materials needed:

After preparing the kitchen utensils, then the next thing to prepare is the ingredients that will be used to make cooking spices. The ingredients that I use are natural spices, the ingredients are as follows:

White rice.
Egg.
Red chili pepper.
Cayenne pepper.
Red onion.
Garlic.
Candlenut.
Pepper.
Salt.
Sugar.
Sweet soy sauce.
Tomatoes.
Cucumber.
Shrimp paste.
Vegetable oil.

The ingredients or spices are prepared to taste as needed. The materials to be used should be washed first until clean before use.

Processing Way:

After the ingredients or spices are prepared, the next thing I do is process the dish into simple Indonesian fried rice food, the processing method is as follows:

The first thing to do is to process the ingredients used into cooking spices, after washing some of the spices that will be used, then slice or cut the spices as needed.

After being cut or sliced, puree some of the ingredients that will be used as cooking spices, puree red chili, cayenne pepper, onion, garlic, shrimp paste and candlenut. Puree the ingredients until completely smooth, in the process of refining these spices I use manual or traditional milling, for those of you who don't have it, you can use another milling machine or also use a blender.

The next stage is the process of cooking the dish, after the spices are mashed then what we do is stir-fry eggs using vegetable oil on a cooking pot. Do it until it is completely cooked, to cook this egg, try not to burn the stove too big, this is so that the eggs we cook do not burn.

If the egg cooking process is complete, the next thing is to heat the vegetable oil using a cooking pan, then add the spices that have been processed earlier, stir-fry until completely cooked. If it is cooked, add the white rice to the cooking pot, mix it with the spices, stir until evenly distributed and the spices seep into the white rice.

Stir continuously until smooth and then mix the stirred rice with the eggs that have been stir-fried, add sweet soy sauce to taste or as needed, then add sugar, salt and pepper to taste, stir until completely evenly distributed and cooked until the process of cooking the fried rice finished.

When finished serving the dish using a plate, serve as needed, then place the sliced ​​or chopped cucumber and tomatoes on top of the dish. However, in this dish I add crackers and fried onions as complementary ingredients for this dish, after serving this food on the dining table to be enjoyed.
