CHICHARRON BUNS // BOLLITOS DE CHICHARRÓN



Good morning my dear foodies. Today I want to share with you a very typical meal from this area that we accompany with any barbecue, or with the perico for breakfast, or even just with grated cheese. It is about the buns or hallaquitas.

Buenos días mis queridos amantes de las comidas. Hoy les quiero comprtir una comida muy típica de esta zona que acompañamos con cualquier asado, o con el perico del desayuno, o incluso solo con queso rallado. se trata de los bollitos o hallaquitas.

On the highways of the city when we go from Oriente to Caracas, there are many bus stops where they sell the typical roasts with pork, black pudding, and chorizo, and these buns are part of the dish. They have a peculiar mild spicy touch, but the most genuine thing is that they come wrapped in banana or banana leaves, or in cob leaves.

As you can imagine, the leaves give them the flavor that completes the deliciousness of these companions to our meals.

En las carreteras de la ciudad cuando vamos desde Oriente hacia Caracas, hay muchos paraderos donde venden los típicos asados con cochino, morcilla, y chorizo, y estos bollitos son parte del platillo. tienen un peculiar toque picante suave, pero lo más genuino es que vienen envueltos en hojas de plátano o cambur, o en hojas de mazorca.

Como podrán imaginar, las hojas les dan el sabor que completa lo delicioso de estos acompañantes de nuestras comidas.

IƝƓRƐƊIƐƝƬS

  • 100 gr of crackling
  • 2 cups of white cornmeal
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Half carrot
  • 3 sweet peppers
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • Banana leaves and cob leaves

IƝƓRƐƊIƐƝƬƐS

  • 100 gr de chicharrón
  • 2 tazas de harina de maíz blanca
  • 2 tazas de agua
  • 1 cucharadita de sal
  • Media zanahoria
  • 3 ajíes dulces
  • 2 cucharadas de aceite
  • Hojas de cambur y hojas de mazorca

The first step is to crush the chicharrón and reserve it.

El primer paso es triturar el chicharrón y reservarlo.

Then the peppers, carrot, oil and water are placed in a blender until all these ingredients are well crushed and mixed.

Luego se colocan en una licuadora los ajíes, la zanahoria, el aceite y el agua hasta dejar todos estos ingredientes bien triturados y mezclados.

Pour the contents of the blender into a container, add the salt and stir.

Se vierte el contenido de la licuadora en un envase, se agrega la sal y se revuelve.

Then the crushed pork rind is added to the mixture and stirred well.

Leave the pork rind soaking in the mixture for about 10 minutes to make it soft.

Luego se agrega a la mezcla el chicharrón triturado y se revuelve bien.

Se deja remojando el chicharrón en la mezcla por unos 10 minutos para que quede suave.

Then add the flour and knead to form a soft and compact dough.

Luego se agrega la harina y se amasa hasta formar una masa suave y compacta.

The buns are formed and placed on the leaves.

Se forman los bollitos y se colocan sobre las hojas.

They are closed and tied with strips of the same corn husks.

Se cierran y se amarran con tiritas de las mismas hojas de maíz.

They are put to cook in a steam pot for 20 min.

Se ponen a cocinar en una olla a vapor por 20 min.

They are served as accompaniments to many meals such as perico,

Puedes prepararlos, es una receta súper fácil. 🤗
