Today I would like to introduce you to the Zapfanstalt in Dresden, a pub located deep in the Neustadt and known for its rich selection of different beers. Here, the beer takes centre stage, while the food becomes more of a secondary matter. With over 20 types of beer on tap and more than 100 bottled beers, there is a real variety to discover here. Professionally guided beer tastings are also offered to intensify the taste experience.
The food
The food at the Zapfanstalt is good and solid. With a 5 beer board, I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries, which was well done and tasty. The focus here is on home cooking to accompany a thirst for a refreshing beer.
The service
The service in the taproom is unfortunately self-service. The food is brought to you, but the staff is slightly stressed. Nevertheless, they are always friendly and eager to make the guests' stay a pleasant one.
The ambience
The ambience in the Zapfanstalt is rustic and robust. The pub can be a bit draughty, but as the evening gets later, the place (and the guests) gets more crowded and rather cosy. People who are not completely averse to physical contact with strangers and appreciate the convivial atmosphere of a lively beer pub will feel at home here.
Price performance
The prices in the taproom are good value and the beer is rather cheap, especially the 5 beer board is a real bargain for the selection on offer. You get solid food and a great variety of beers at fair prices here.

... had a little basement charm, but was clean and ventilated.

Verehrte Leserinnen und Leser,
heute möchte ich Ihnen die Zapfanstalt in Dresden vorstellen, ein Lokal, das tief in der Neustadt gelegen ist und für seine reichhaltige Auswahl verschiedener Biere bekannt ist. Hier steht das Bier im Mittelpunkt, während das Essen eher zur Nebensache wird. Mit über 20 Biersorten vom Fass und mehr als 100 Flaschenbieren gibt es hier eine wahre Vielfalt zu entdecken. Darüber hinaus werden auch professionell begleitete Biertastings angeboten, um das Geschmackserlebnis zu intensivieren.

Das Essen in der Zapfanstalt ist gutbürgerlich und solide. Zu einem 5er Bierbrett habe ich einen Burger mit Süßkartoffelpommes bestellt, der gut gemacht und schmackhaft war. Hier steht Hausmannskost im Vordergrund, die den Durst nach einem erfrischenden Bier begleitet.

Der Service in der Zapfanstalt ist leider auf Selbstbedienung ausgelegt. Das Essen wird einem gebracht, jedoch ist das Personal leicht gestresst. Dennoch sind sie stets freundlich und bemüht, den Gästen einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bieten.
Das Ambiente
Das Ambiente in der Zapfanstalt ist rustikal und robust. Das Lokal kann etwas zugig sein, aber je später der Abend wird, desto voller wird das Haus (und die Gäste) und es wird eher kuschelig warm. Hier fühlen sich Menschen wohl, die dem körperlichen Kontakt zu Fremden nicht völlig abgeneigt sind und die gesellige Atmosphäre eines belebten Bierlokals schätzen.
Preisleistung
Die Preise in der Zapfanstalt sind preiswert und das Bier ist eher günstig, vor allem das 5er Bierbrett ist ein echtes Schnäppchen für die angebotene Auswahl. Hier bekommt man solide Speisen und eine große Vielfalt an Bieren zu fairen Preisen.
Das still Örtchen
... hatte ein wenig Kellercharme, war aber sauber und gelüftet.
