Can you name all ingredients based on the photo above?

I really enjoyed making this salad this week. There were seven ingredients. It was my first time to do such a combination. It’s great to explore new avenues in the kitchen. I knew I would have loved the salad because I love each ingredient on its own. I just wondered about the combination of textures. The fruits and vegetables gave a little munch “here”, a crunch “there”, a little sweetness “over here” and a little tang “over there”. Smoothness, crispiness, softness and a slight grainy-feel were not to be left out. They all created fireworks on my palate.

Ingredients

1. 2 heads of lettuce🥬
2. a half of an orange bell pepper🫑
3. 2 small cucumbers 🥒
4. 2 gold kiwi fruits 🥝
5. a quarter of a white-fleshed dragonfruit
6. a small serving of blackberries
7. a large or medium-sized tomato🍅 (this I figured I needed afterwards so it’s not on the tray).

Utensils and Equipment

  • a knife
  • a cutting board
  • a salad bowl
  • plates

Method:

1. Wash all fruits and vegetables and prepare them for cutting. Break lettuce in bite-size pieces.

Don’t Play With Your Food

Growing up as kids, my siblings and I would twirl foods around the plate when we didn’t want to eat them.
My mom would say, “Don’t play with your food”. That basically meant we were to stop twirling and eat the remaining foods on our plates.

While making the salad, I decided to play with the ingredients a bit. It’s just that this time around, I wasn’t twirling and seriously could hardly wait to have it. It tested my patience and gave me a craving. Before putting them in the salad bowl, I thought I’d try to make a “rainbow” and take shots from different angles.

9. Put the ingredients (except the tomato wedges) in a salad bowl. Try to mix and balance the ingredients as they are added.

10. Garnish the salad by placing the tomato wedges around the frame of the bowl.

The final step is to simply enjoy the salad.

Have a lovely weekend. 😃

Aww good job dear! Looks like delicious and beautiful style! Save some for me please lol.

😃Thank you.I’ll save some for you. Would you like one serving or 2? 💗

If I could I would have all hahaha 😝. Have a beautiful week 💕

🤣😂😂Haha!!!!That’s really a good one.
Have a wonderful week too.💗💗

Oh yeah... that's a good-looking salad! A citrus vinaigrette or a creamy poppyseed dressing would go nicely. Is it some kind of filter or color setting, or are your kiwis YELLOW? :D

😃Thank you and thanks for stopping by. I had it without dressing but I love the sound of the dressings you recommended. Yes, the kiwis are yellowish-green.They are gold kiwis. They are a bit sweeter than the green ones. I love both but prefer the gold. 😃

Wow! wow! wow! Another salad recipe that I can try. My only problem is the dragon fruit which is very expensive here in our country.

😃Thanks and thank you for stopping by. You could leave the dragonfruit out.

You're welcome (^_^)

That's a nice fresh-fruity salad!😀
No dressing ?

😃Thank you. I’m sure it would be good with a dressing but it was also great without it. The kiwi provided a nice juicy tang.

Ok, fair enough.😊
Raw is healthy, a dark balsamico vinegar goes good with berries..

😃Thanks. I can try that next time. 🎶

Hola buenos días @fruityfruitz tu preparación me abrió el apetito muy temprano 😁

Ese plato invita a comer , está lleno de energía y vitalidad

Muchas gracias. Estoy muy feliz de oír eso. Fue la primera vez que lo hacía. Fue realmente delicioso. Por favor, pruébalo cuando tengas la oportunidad.

Así será , apenas tenga todo la haré 🤗

😃I hope you’ll like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

That is so beautiful I would probably just stare at it for a while before eating. I didn't you all had blackberries in Japan, I thought those were only in the Americas. I also never seen a kiwi like that, it looks more yellow than green, perhaps a special variety?

😃Thank you. I was hungry before making the salad so let’s just say, ”I struggled to wait”.😆
Got the blackberries at Costco. Had them recently for the first time. I’ve never seen them on a tree. Great source of vitamin C and other stuff so I thought I’d get some. The gold kiwi (and green) is readily available/very common at the supermarkets. They seem to often be around but could be imported from New Zealand. A bit sweeter and smoother than the green(my opinion😆).

Oh this is so beautiful and refreshing. I agree with @justinparke I would just stare for a while and take tons pictures because it’s too beautiful to eat right the way 😅

💗😃🎶Thank you. I often drool at your salads and fruit plates😋

OMG! OMWTY! Doesn't that look TASTEY!? 😋

😃Thank you. It was my first time doing that combination. I enjoyed it.
