(ENG-ESP) Baked caramelized sweet potatoes / Boniatos caramelizados al horno

Happy Saturday Hivers! In this opportunity, I will explain you how to prepare delicious "baked caramelized sweet potatoes ". The magic of this delicious recipe is found in the appetizing consistency that they acquire during the cooking process, when baking our "sweet potatoes" wrapping them in aluminum foil, they will cook in their own juice and will have a very soft and creamy texture.

Let's put on our apron and start our wonderful process...

Feliz sábado Hivers! En ésta oportunidad, les explicaré como preparar exquisitos "boniatos caramelizados al horno". La magia de ésta deliciosa receta la encontramos en la apetitosa consistencia que adquieren durante el proceso de cocción, al hornear nuestros "boniatos" envolviéndolos papel de aluminio se cocinarán en su propio jugo y quedarán con una textura muy suave y cremosa.

Pongámonos el delantal y empecemos nuestro maravilloso proceso...

  • To prepare this recipe I used 3 large sweet potatoes. We proceed to wash their skin very well.
  • Para elaborar ésta receta utilicé 3 boniatos grandes. Procedemos a lavar muy bien su piel.

  • You can bake them whole or cut them in half, the latter option was my choice, so that the baking process would not be so long.

  • We wrap our succulent and appetizing sweet potatoes in aluminum foil.

  • Pueden hornearlos enteros o cortarlos por la mitad, ésta última opción fue mi elección, para que el proceso de cocción no fuera tan largo.
  • Envolvemos nuestros suculentos y apetitosos boniatos en papel de aluminio.

  • After wrapping the sweet potatoes very well, use a refractory container to bake them, I suggest placing aluminum foil at the bottom of the container.
  • Luego de envolver muy bien los boniatos, utilizarán un envase refractario para proceder a hornearlos, les sugiero colocar papel de aluminio el fondo del envase.

  • We will bake our sweet potatoes at 250º for approximately 1 hour or until we check that they have softened. It will depend on the power of the oven.

  • With the help of a sharp knife we will check if our sweet potatoes are ready.... After 1 hour of baking they have already acquired a very soft and juicy consistency.

  • Hornearemos nuestros boniatos a 250º aproximadamente durante 1 hora o hasta que comprobemos que se ablandaron. Dependerá de la potencia del horno.
  • Con ayuda de un cuchillo de punta fina comprobaremos si nuestros boniatos están listos... Después de 1 hora de horneado ya adquirieron una consistencia muy suave y jugosa.

  • While waiting for them to cool to room temperature, we proceed to prepare our succulent syrup that will be the main base of this delicious dish.

  • In a non-stick frying pan add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of butter, set the stove temperature to "low" heat.

  • Mientras esperamos que se enfríen a temperatura ambiente, procedemos a elaborar nuestro suculento almíbar que será la base principal de éste delicioso platillo.
  • En un sartén antiaadherente agregamos 1 cucharadita de aceite de oliva junto con otra de mantequilla, colocamos la temperatura de la estufa a fuego "bajo".

  • We incorporate an ingredient that will provide a wonderful contrast... we add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
  • Incorporamos un ingrediente que aportará un maravilloso contraste... colocamos 1/2 cucharadita de canela en polvo.

  • Next, add 3 tablespoons of honey and mix until well integrated.
  • A continuación, añadimos 3 cucharadas de miel, mezclamos hasta integrar bien.

  • This is how exquisite our syrup will be...
  • Así de exquisito nos quedará nuestro almíbar...

  • Add the syrup on top of our tasty sweet potatoes, previously cut into "thick wheels".
  • Añadimos el almíbar encima nuestras sabrosas batatas, previamente las habremos cortado en "ruedas gruesas".

  • Our succulent dish is ready to enjoy... We plate...
  • Nuestro suculento platillo está listo para disfrutar... Emplatamos...

It looks yummi I never try caramelized potatoes.

This recipe is very tasty, the star ingredient is the sweet potato, it is very delicious because it has a sweet taste.

I often serve sweet potato with bake method and this version is made me craving :)

This is one of my favorite recipes, what I love most is the contrast the syrup brings to the sweet potatoes.
