I like to use a mixture of grains in salads and pilafs. The fluffy, pale quinoa in this gingery salad contrasts nicely with the dark, chewy wild rice. You can serve this as a one-dish meal, a starter or a side dish.

Sounds delicious to me! Nothing wrong with making a recipe your own, especially when you make it that much healthier with using your own proportions. I have a co-worker wanting me to do the same thing with a frozen meal from Trader Joe's he really enjoys. I just have to give the original a try then I'll try to do my own version at home for him to replicate, too. :) I'll have to share this with him because I think he'd like this one.
