El jugo de parchita, fruta de la pasión o maracuyá, según el país donde te encuentres, es un jugo tradicional de la región tropical de nuestra América.

En mi familia el jugo de parchita nos ha acompañado durante generaciones para acompañar algún desayuno o almuerzo. Mi mamá me enseñó a preparar el jugo de parchita cuando tenía 12 años que empecé a ayudarle en los quehaceres de la cocina y empezó mi vida en este maravilloso mundo de las artes culinarias.

Mi mamá preparaba el jugo de parchita para ayudarnos a todos sus hijos a fortalecer el sistema inmunológico por su alto contenido de vitamina B3, B6 y C, y minerales como el hierro, potasio, fósforo y zinc, así que era ideal para esos meses entre junio y agosto que estábamos de vacaciones escolares y por el día hacía sol y por las noches llovía y cambiaba la temperatura.
