Peas are a modest food, rich in vitamins, minerals, iron, potassium and magnesium.
We all very quickly believe in the nutritional value of various exotic and slightly less available foods. When we read an article about some of them, we sometimes think about the ways in which they, if they were available to us, would enrich the menu. However, how much are we aware that nutritional wealth is hidden in many quite simple and easily accessible foods that are at our fingertips?
For everyone who wants to regulate their body weight, peas are highly recommended, one cup of peas contains fewer calories, and in contrast, it is rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein.
I like to prepare it, especially young peas, which are sweet vegetables in themselves. Today I prepared a pea soup, which you can also prepare without meat, for a better taste of a little dried meat you will get a tasty and nutritious soup.
INGREDIENTS:
- 500 g of peas
- 1 onion
- 1 large carrot
- 1 larger potato
- 300 ml tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon large flour
- 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
- spice as desired vegeta, are, pepper
- a little bit of oil
- for meat lovers, you can also use a piece of dried meat for a better taste.
PREPARATION:
Chop the onion into small pieces.
In a bowl, add a little oil and onion and simmer a little to make the onion glassy.
Then add peas and carrots.
When we have added the peas and carrots, add a little water and simmer for another twenty minutes to soften the peas.
Then immediately make a paste in the same pan, add a large spoonful of flour and a small spoonful of ground paprika.
Stir well so that no lumps remain with the addition of cold water.
Put the pan on a high heat to boil.
You can also cook pea soup without meat for the vegetarian variant, I added a piece of dried meat that I previously boiled in water, because dried meat can be salty.
Leave the broth to boil a little so that the meat cooks nicely.
Add the chopped potatoes to the larger squares.
when everything seems to be cooked, finally add tomato juice and season it as desired, with vegeta, salt or pepper to taste.
Simple, delicious food full of vitamins. I like to prepare food with a lot of vegetables that is extremely healthy.
