I took a long break after a knockout that left me with my final exams at the University. I didn't really feel like writing about anything, not even opening Hive. But one day, I was given free field to play in the kitchen and I remembered that recipe I really liked from @maryed, about some oatmeal pancakes, I LOVE OATMEAL. I LOVE OATMEAL. And it only contained two ingredients, looked easy to make and I felt like documenting that day. why not do a post about it?

INGREDIENTES.

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • 2 eggs

  • Optional: vanilla essence and cinnamon

-Referencia al post.

  • ½ taza de copos de avena

  • 2 huevos

  • Opcional: esencia de
    vainilla y canela

I tried to follow everything to the letter...

Pour the oatmeal into a bowl, and hydrate it. I poured water until a little bit of the oatmeal came out. I left it like that for ten (10) minutes just as she indicates in the post.

Then I added the oatmeal and water to the blender, added the two eggs and, since these pancakes were for dinner, and I like to eat salty at dinner, I added a half tablespoon of salt hehe.

When I blended the mixture, I tasted it and it tasted very salty so I added some vanilla to the blender to counteract the taste. Besides, @maryed had added vanilla even though it was optional, so my intuition told me it was fine. I blended it until it was quite watery, as she said.

I put the mixture back in the bowl where the oatmeal was before, and started to heat the pan, with full oil. Then I put the mixture in it, when it was already very hot... and I want to tell you friends, that the oil is furious, but it doesn't attack you anymore when you become its friend.

The first pancake or crepe was a disaster, I flipped it as soon as I saw that the bottom was loose. Most of the mixture had not yet condensed and it was like this:

But then I got the hang of it. I waited for most of the mixture to cook (that is, I waited for the pancake to get harder) and flipped it. The second one came out perfectly, and so did the others.

When they were ready, I used some unusual accompaniments, avocado and mortadella, which is what I usually eat for dinner with the arepa.

And this was my journey cooking for the first time with a Hive recipe!

Thanks @maryed, I told you I was going to make the recipe when I had blender and here is the proof.

I'm signing off!

¡Me despido!
