I often cook shrimp whenever we gather at the house—shrimp is a must-have—and today I’m making a shrimp dish again. This time, however, I’m starting with a red-spiced coconut milk base and adding potatoes along with green chilies sliced into long strips.

It just so happens that at home there are still a lot of leftovers from yesterday's warehouses. I bought them, so as a result I made this shrimp in coconut milk soup lunch that I cooked for the whole family.

500 g shrimp, 200 ml thick coconut milk, 2 potatoes, 4 large green chilies
8 red chilies, 7 asam sunti (preserved bilimbi), 1/2 tsp coriander, a piece of turmeric (1/2 the length of a finger joint), 5 shallots, 2 cloves of garlic, 7 bird's eye chilies.

First, I blend the spices until smooth; then, I peel and thoroughly wash the potatoes before cutting them to my liking.

After cutting the potatoes, I started preparing the green chilies; I split them in half lengthwise. I also prepared the shallots and curry leaves for sautéing later.After I sautéed the curry leaves briefly until they wilted, then I added the ground spices.

After the spices were slightly cooked, I added the shrimp, then added the coconut milk and cooked again.

Only then did I add the previously cut potatoes and cook everything again until the liquid reduced and the shrimp were perfectly cooked.

RESULTS

And this is the result, my shrimp in coconut milk sauce with potatoes is ready to be enjoyed with my family at home, I immediately took a plate of warm rice, I added the rice and it tasted really wow, it was hot like this, it was very quiet, the price was 3, we enjoyed it, it tasted spicy, salty and The sweet taste of the shrimp blends perfectly with the super savory and creamy coconut milk sauce.
