TacoCat (kinda) Cooks! #2: Pizzaritos! 🍕🌯

Hey Hive!

If you missed my post from 2 weeks ago, I started this new foodie series where I showcase some of the recipes we've been trying at home since we've been cooking a lot nowadays! Also I'm running out of content so yeah gotta make the most of it!

But man, kudos to all those other foodie writers who write about your cooking! It's actually pretty challenging having to take photos in the middle of food prep! Especially when my hands are greasy and stuff. I keep forgetting to take photos while cooking because my hands are always occupied.

Anyway, ever since I saw this video by Nigahiga years ago I wanted to try and make these Pizzaritos (which are basically Pizza-Burritos, or pizza-flavoured Hot Pockets I guess)!

They looked so delicious when they made it and pizzas are one of my favourite foods of all time so when I finally got my own kitchen I just had to try and make it for myself!

I actually have made these quite a few times already, and my friends seemed to love it too and I'm so glad! I followed Ryan and Sean's recipe the first time, and it went well but I wanted some other stuff inside the burrito too.

So these are the ingredients I used:

I think in the video they mainly just use tomato sauce, cheese and pepperoni, but I added white button mushrooms and red peppers as well.

And also these spices!

image.png

So step 1: lay down your tortilla wrap and spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on that bad boy. Of course you can adjust the amount of sauce depending on how big your wrap is.

image.png

Step 2: lay down a couple of pepperoni slices along the middle of the wrap. Don't put too many though since it may be difficult to wrap up later.

image.png

Step 3: add the mushrooms and red peppers on top of the pepperoni.

image.png

Step 4: pour the cheese on top! I used mozzarella because that's my favourite cheese and the smell is not as strong.

image.png

Step 5: sprinkle some of the spices on top!

image.png

Step 6: then wrap it up! I probably should've taken a video of the wrapping, but to do this you fold in the sides on the left and right then roll it up from the bottom to the top!

image.png

Step 7: brush some olive oil on either side of the burrito, then pop it into the air fryer at 190°C for 8 minutes!

image.png

Here's what they look like out of the air fryer! It might look a little burnt but the outside is slightly crispy while the inside is nicely cooked and the cheese melted.

image.png

Here's a look at the cross section! Sorry my plating is horrible but man, the cheese gooey goodness! Absolute yummy deliciousness!

image.png

This is one of my absolute favourite things to make and I'm so happy that everyone who's tried it loves them! It's pretty easy to make too so give it a shot if you're interested! Of course feel free to add or change the fillings to your desire! I personally love mushrooms and pepperoni and the peppers give it a nice contrast too. But you can use whatever - that's the beauty of cooking!

Thanks so much for reading!
