TacoCat's TrEats #59: Comfort Food in Quarantine 🍕

Hey Hive!

It's been quite a while since I've written a foodie post; about 2 months in fact! Because tasteem kind of went dead during the whole transition to hive I've been waiting for their revival ever since but it looks like it's not happening any time soon, unfortunately. What a shame, I really enjoyed participating in their contests!

But oh well, we move on. Today I wanna share one of my new favourite pizza places I've found while in quarantine!

It's called Little Caesars Pizza! I actually recall seeing this new pizza place open up at the new Funan mall and it looked really enticing since the prices were so low! A whole pizza for 8 bucks?? Sign me up!
But we never actually tried it until the whole lockdown started and I was craving pizza. Since Little Caesars had unbeatable prices we decided to give it a try!

So the first time we tried Little Caesars, we ordered the 12 inch Hot-N-Ready Pepperoni and added a side of their special crazy bread for 3 bucks. The whole meal was less than 15 bucks + delivery!

Here's the pizza:

And this was one of the crazy bread sticks, which came with a side of their special sauce:

The pizza was actually not bad! The crust might've been a bit more chewy than I would've liked, but other than that it was pretty good! The pepperoni and cheese were legit. It didn't come with extra pepper or cheese packets though, so we added our own chili powder to spice it up and it was perfect! 😋

The crazy bread was pretty meh though. It is also pretty chewy and I think it has some cheese sprinkled on top but without the pizza toppings it's a little bland. The sauce improved it a little bit, but not much.

Nevertheless, we were really pleased with the pizza itself and for the price it couldn't get any better than that!

So I read that Little Caesars actually came all the way from the US, where a couple opened a small pizza shop in Michigan in 1959! The business was doing really well that they began franchising in 1962 and opened a store in Canada in 1969! Fast forward a couple decades and they opened their first restaurant right here in Singapore in 2019! With their fast service and low prices, they're definitely threatening other fast-food pizza chains here like Pizza Hut and Domino's (which pale in comparison imo).

I think right now there are only 3 outlets in Singapore - Raffles, Thomson Plaza and Funan, but I hope they do well enough to open more in the future! It may be tough competing with so many other pizza joints here though.

We've actually eaten Little Caesars at least twice since that first order, and the other times we ate it we tried their oven roasted Caesar wings which I have to say are absolutely delicious!

They're crispy, juicy, and seasoned really well! So if you do try Little Caesars definitely get the wings (which also include drumlettes as well)!

I was so stuffed just sharing this meal with Sean, and it's definitely worth all the calories because it's so good! And cheap too! They have other toppings as well, but pepperoni is our favourite. So if you have a hankering for pizza and are looking for a cheap and quick fix, try Little Caesars! 😊

Thanks so much for reading!
