El día de ayer, Domingo 28 de noviembre, me reuní con @dimeshana en los espacios del Teatro Teresa Carreño (uno de los más importantes del país), para comenzar a crear una coreografía que estaremos presentando ahorita en Diciembre para un evento de una de las Academias en donde Shana trabaja (por supuesto en su momento también se compartiré todo lo relacionado al respecto). Y lo bonito de todo y la razón de este post, es que pude revivir muchos recuerdos, porque justo allí puedo decir que comenzó mi vida de Coreógrafa en el Baile...
Yesterday, Sunday November 28th, I met with @dimeshana in the Teresa Carreño Theater (one of the most important in the country), to start creating a choreography that we will be presenting now in December for an event of one of the Academies where Shana works (of course in due time I will also share everything related to it). And the beauty of it all and the reason for this post, is that I was able to relive many memories, because right there I can say that my life as a choreographer in the dance began....
A partir del 2018, el Teresa Carreño se convirtió en una casa para mí, ya que desde que culminé el Pensum de Bachata, para graduarme como Bailarina Aficionada de este género en @yoysalseros, tocó poner en práctica lo aprendido y desarrollar esa capacidad de crear, porque la última evaluación que se debe realizar en la Escuela para obtener el Certificado, es presentar una Coreografía realizada entre todo el grupo, donde se pueda ver plasmado todo lo visto durante el curso.
Y aunque esa primera coreografía no fue creada sólo por mi, igual entre todos tuvimos que sacar y dejar fluir nuestra creatividad para crear no sólo una coreografía para la evaluación, sino algo que transmitiera y que pudiésemos disfrutar nosotros al estarla bailando para que el público la pudiese disfrutar también. Y todo ese proceso de creación, o por lo menos la gran mayoría se dio en esos espacios del Teresa Carreño.
Allí íbamos a ensayar entre semana y muchas veces los domingos. Los recuerdos son muy bonitos, pasábamos horas allí trabajando en nuestra coreografía, que en lo personal amo hasta el sol de hoy, por todo el compromiso, dedicación, y buen trabajo en equipo que se realizó. Además de la mezcla de canciones hermosas y con buen ritmo que elegimos en ese entonces; eran nuestra principal fuente de inspiración y motivación... todo sin duda fue muy especial y ayer al estar pisando otra vez esos espacios, llegaron a mi mente imágenes de esos días, pude revivirlos y fue hermoso...
El año siguiente adoptamos el espacio nuevamente para crear y ensayar, de igual forma, la coreografía para graduarnos como Bailarines Aficionados, pero en ese año, a la Salsa Casino. En esa oportunidad el grupo era más grande, la coreografía más larga y fue más trabajoso, ensayábamos en las tarde noche hasta que nos corrían del Teatro literalmente jajaja, porque era el horario que más se adaptaba a todos entre semana. Y la mayoría de los domingos también sin falta allí en las mañanas para continuar con nuestra tarea jaja.
From 2018, the Teresa Carreño became a home for me, since I finished the Bachata Pensum, to graduate as an Amateur Dancer of this genre in @yoysalseros, I had to put into practice what I learned and develop the ability to create, because the last evaluation that must be done in the School to obtain the Certificate, is to present a Choreography made by the whole group, where you can see embodied everything seen during the course.
And although that first choreography was not created only by me, we all had to get out and let our creativity flow to create not only a choreography for the evaluation, but something that would transmit and that we could enjoy when we were dancing it so that the public could enjoy it too. And the whole process of creation, or at least most of it, took place in those spaces of the Teresa Carreño.
We would go there to rehearse during the week and many times on Sundays. The memories are very nice, we spent hours there working on our choreography, which I personally love to this day, for all the commitment, dedication, and good teamwork that was done. In addition to the mix of beautiful songs with good rhythm that we chose back then; they were our main source of inspiration and motivation... everything without a doubt was very special and yesterday when I was stepping on those spaces again, images of those days came to my mind, I was able to relive them and it was beautiful...
The following year we adopted the space again to create and rehearse, in the same way, the choreography to graduate as Amateur Dancers, but that year, to Salsa Casino. In that opportunity the group was bigger, the choreography was longer and it was more laborious, we rehearsed in the evening until they ran us out of the theater literally hahaha, because it was the schedule that best suited everyone during the week. And most Sundays also without fail there in the mornings to continue with our task haha.
Esa coreografía también la amo y la recuerdo con mucho cariño por todo lo que implica, abarcamos todos los estilos que conforman la Salsa que era un requisito fundamental para la coreografía. Tuvimos nuestras altas y bajas, de hecho a la primera no pasamos la evaluación por varias fallas, pero se nos dio otra oportunidad de corregir muchas cosas junto a los profes igual en el Teresa; presentamos una segunda vez y se logró, y finalmente el día de la presentación en Tarima nos encargamos de disfrutarla al máximo... posiblemente más adelante les cueste con más detalles sobre esos bailes, pero para no desviarme mucho, quiero que se queden con que en serio fue un lugar donde se vivió y se creó mucho, así que lo considero de cierta forma, especial.
Allí antes también realizaban Sociales, una vez tuve la oportunidad de ir y fue increíble! O sea, de verdad que se logró bailar mucho en esos pasillos, de forma gratuita, por si tenian la duda jajaj. De por si esos espacios alli cerca del estacionamiento, que de hecho en el estacionamiento también llegamos a ensayar😅 están abiertos para que personas practiquen, bien sea yoga, baile, actuación, que no precisamente pertenecen a obras o son artistas del Teatro propiamente.
Y que esta vez esté junto a Shana creando un baile con fusión de varios estilos que tengo mucho tiempo sin bailar en escenario se me hace emotivo y hermoso, porque estoy sumando más momentos, más experiencias y hasta más currículum por ser parte del proceso de creación de una coreografía con estilos que no desempeño actualmente como coreógrafa, asi que estoy muy emocionada por todo, porque está quedando hermoso... me motiva, me inspira y me hace sentir bonito recordar y darme cuenta de todo lo que he crecido como bailarina y coreografa estos años...
I also love that choreography and I remember it fondly for all that it implies, we covered all the styles that make up the Salsa, which was a fundamental requirement for the choreography. We had our ups and downs, in fact the first time we did not pass the evaluation for several failures, but we were given another opportunity to correct many things together with the teachers in the Teresa; we presented a second time and it was achieved, and finally the day of the presentation in Tarima we took care to enjoy it to the fullest ... possibly later it will cost you with more details about those dances, but not to deviate too much, I want you to keep in mind that it was really a place where much was lived and created, so I consider it in a way, special.
Once I had the opportunity to go there and it was incredible! I mean, you really got to dance a lot in those halls, for free, in case you had any doubts hahahaha. In fact, those spaces there near the parking lot, which in fact in the parking lot we also get to rehearse😅 are open for people to practice, either yoga, dance, acting, which do not belong to works or are artists of the theater itself.
And this time I'm with Shana creating a dance with a fusion of several styles that I haven't danced on stage for a long time, it makes me feel emotional and beautiful, because I'm adding more moments, more experiences and even more resume for being part of the process of creating a choreography with styles that I don't currently perform as a choreographer, so I'm very excited about everything, because it's turning out beautiful... it motivates me, inspires me and makes me feel nice to remember and realize how much I've grown as a dancer and choreographer these years...
Si llegaste hasta este punto te lo agradezco muchísimo, quise escribir este post para contar un poco lo bonito que fue recordar y darse cuenta como simples lugares pueden marcar tanto, y por si alguien de Caracas me lee y no sabía que existía esa posibilidad de practicar allí pues lo sepan, jeje. Es muy cómodo, bastante iluminado y el ambiente es muy chevere, lo único es que muchas veces al ser un espacio público hay mucha gente haciendo cosas diferentes y pues hay que tener en cuenta que hay que compartir y adaptarse... cuéntenme en los comentarios que tal les pareció para interactuar un poquito, nos vemos pronto gente hermosa, bye bye!
