The last two weeks of July were intense and yet amazing! It was when our event AFRO-LATIN BAILE SA SUGBO came to a realization.
As some of you know, I started dancing Afro-Latin last year! And from there, my life was added with more meaning, joy, and purpose. Dancing became an outlet for my creative energy. Apart from that, a lot of healing within me happened.
I learned the Bachata first and graduated with the 3 level courses offered by the V9 dance studio. After which, I then enrolled in Kizomba classes. However, my dance coach decided to close her studio. I thought everything was lost but after a few months, she decided to open classes one last time and hold an event as a final farewell celebration.
Thus, the AFRO-LATIN BAILE SA SUGBO was organized. It was a 3-day event. A culmination of our dance learnings. However, it became more than that. It became an event to unite Afro-Latin Teachers and Dancers from all over the country. These teachers held workshops for Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, and Argentine Tango! We also had 3 nights of social dancing! And to be honest, I was ecstatic to be able to meet teachers and dancers from other parts of the country. I was extremely happy to be able to dance with different male leads with unique dance styles. With that, I learned a lot and became a better dancer as well.
This video is only a teaser of the last day of our event and yet showcases the amazing talent, vibes, and energy from the Afro-Latin Teachers, Students, and Dancers! I will share more stories and videos in the upcoming days to come.

Haha. We do make it a point to look good to feel good when dancing! Lol. but it was a performance night so we had to beautify ourselves! Happy you enjoyed watching!

Al inicio no entendía de que se trataba pero mientras fui leyendo comprendí todo, todos los estilos que se encuentran de ven asombrosos, como me gustaría tener la oportunidad de aprender mucho más del baile, se nota que todas las personas que fueron su pasión y alegría es el baile, y es genial ver a tantas personas que le gustrn lo mismo que a mí, espero algún dia puedan abrir sus puertas denuevo ☺️
