Ich hatte ja schon, von meiner letzten Tour durch Österreich erzählt. Heute zeige ich euch, wie ich den Großglockner Pass, gefahren bin. Da meine Unterkunft in Bad Hofgastein war und ich nach Klagenfurt wollte, hatte ich die Wahl eine Fahrt von 3,5 Stunden in Kauf zu nehmen, oder ich entscheide mich, den Großglockner Pass hoch und wieder runter zu fahren, was 38 Euro kostet. Ich entschied mich, da ich schon spät dran war, den Pass zu fahren und die 38 Euro zu bezahlen. Leider hatte ich nicht das perfekte Wetter, aber immer noch gut genug, um die tolle Landschaft zu genießen.

I had already, of my last tour through Austria tells. Today I show you how I drove the Grossglockner pass.
Since my accommodation was in Bad Hofgastein and I wanted to Klagenfurt, I had the choice to take a ride of 3.5 hours.
Or I decide to drive up and down the Grossglockner pass, which costs 38 euros.
I decided, since I was already late, to drive the pass and pay the 38 euros.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the perfect weather,
but still good enough to enjoy the great scenery.
Nachdem ich die Gebühr bezahlt hatte, durfte ich endlich den Berg hinauffahren. Hoch bin ich erstmal zügig den ich hatte bedauerlicherweise nicht die Zeit um an jeder Haltebucht zu halten. Die Fahrt hoch, hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, da die Strecke sich in Schlangenlinien den Berg hochzieht
Was cool war, in jeder Kurve stand die aktuelle Höhenangabe. So wusste man immer, in welcher Höhe man grade auf dem Berg ist. Bei ca. 2000 gab es eine größere Haltebucht, mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht.
After I had paid the fee, I was finally allowed to drive up the mountain.
Up I am first briskly, I had unfortunately
not the time to stop at each stop bay.
The ride up, has made a lot of fun,
because the track stretches in serpentines up the mountain
What was cool, in each curve was the current height indication.
So you always knew at what altitude you were just on the mountain.
At about 2000 there was a larger stop bay,
with a wonderful view.
Nachdem ich einige Bilder gemacht hatte, bin ich da weiter hoch zum Gipfel, wo ich nochmal angehalten habe. Und mir ein wenig den Berg und seine Gesteine angeschaut habe. Einen kleinen Brocken habe ich mir mal mit nach Hause genommen, um ihn dort zu zerkleiner und auf Gold zu testen. Von oben konnte ich auch einen kleinen See sehen, den ich von Bilder von meinem Vater kannte. Also bin ich schnell weiter gefahren, um dort auch noch mal zuhalten.
After I had made some pictures,
I am there further up to the summit,
where I have stopped again.
And I looked a little bit at the mountain and its rocks.
I took a small chunk home with me to crush it there and test it for gold.
From the top I could also see a small lake,
which I knew from pictures of my father.
So I quickly drove on to stop there again.
Als ich an der Haltebucht von dem See ankam, konnte ich schnell erkennen, dass es nur noch eine reine Schlammbrühe ist und es sich nicht lohnt weiter dort herumzulaufen.
Doch auf der Parkbucht war eine interessante Vitrine. Wo auch einige Gesteine, die es auf dem Berg gibt, ausgestellt und beschrieben waren.
When I arrived at the parking bay of the lake, I could quickly see that it is only a pure muddy broth and it is not worth to walk around there further.
But on the parking bay was an interesting showcase. Where also some rocks, which there are on the mountain, were exhibited and described.
Die Zeit raste und ich musste wieder weiter fahren. Also bin ich schnell wieder zum Auto und den Pass weiter runtergefahren. Nach gut 1 Stunde war ich einmal hoch und wieder runtergefahren und meine Bremsen haben ordentlich gelitten. Denn sie qualmten und stanken sehr.
Ich hab mich dann nochmal an eine kleine halte Bucht gestellt, wo auch direkt ein Bach herlief. Um meine Bremsen abkühlen zu lassen, habe ich meine Pfanne ausgepackt und den Bach ein wenig auf Gold prospektiert.
Leider konnte ich dort kein Gold nachweisen, vielleicht war ich nicht tief genug oder einfach nicht an der richtigen Stelle.
Als meine Bremsen dann endlich abgekühlt waren, konnte ich weiter zum Treffen fahren.
Time was racing and I had to drive on again.
So I quickly went back to the car and drove down the pass.
After a good 1 hour I was once up and
down again and my brakes have suffered properly.
Because they smoked and stank very much.
I put me then again to a small hold bay,
where also directly a brook ran here.
To let my brakes cool down, I unpacked my pan and prospected the creek a bit for gold.
Unfortunately I couldn't detect any gold there, maybe I wasn't deep enough or just not in the right spot.
When my brakes finally cooled down, I was able to continue on to the meeting.
Ich bin sehr gut durchgekommen und konnte noch in meiner Unterkunft einchecken, bevor die ersten auf dem Campingplatz ankamen. Wir haben uns dann den Platz für den morgigen Tag angeschaut und waren nicht so begeistert. Also sind wir wieder zu den anderen zurückgegangen.
Doch von der Prospektionstour und dem Goldwaschtreffen in Klagenfurt berichte ich ein anderes Mal.
I got through very well and was able to
check into my accommodation before the
first ones arrived at the campsite.
We then checked out the site for tomorrow and weren't too thrilled.
So we went back to the others.
But I will report about the prospecting tour and the gold wash meeting in Klagenfurt another time.

Ich war im Sommer dort oben auf einem Filmdreh, meine Bremsen haben trotz massivem Einsatz der Motorbremse auch geraucht. Ich mag es dort in den Bergen.

Danke dir, ja ist schon übel für die Bremsen, hat sich jedoch trotzdem gelohnt und im Sommer wollte ich wieder hin. Ist schon mega dort, aber ich mag das ganze Land sehr. Durch mein Hobby bin ich ja öfters dort.
