This is a place a tourist to Leipzig have to visit as the well known Johann Wolfgang von Goethe mentioned this place in his well known Tragedy Faust written 1808.

Faust 1
In „Auerbachs Keller in Leipzig“, der achten Szene der Tragödie „Faust I“ versucht Mephisto, Faust die Dreistigkeit der Menschen zu zeigen und ihm vor Augen zu führen, wie einfach es für ihn als Teufel ist, diese zu Bösem anzustiften.
Faust allerdings zeigt sich von den „Verführungen“ des einfachen Lebens jedoch zutiefst unbeeindruckt, was zeigt, dass das Trinken und die Gesellschaft anderer Menschen nichts sind, was ihn glücklich macht.

In "Auerbach's Cellar in Leipzig", the eighth scene of the tragedy "Faust I", Mephisto tries to show Faust the audacity of people and how easy it is for him as the devil to incite them to evil.
Faust, however, is deeply unimpressed by the "seductions" of the simple life, which shows that drinking and the company of other people are not things that make him happy.

The Der Jahrhundertschritt - The century step
Der Jahrhundertschritt ist eine Bronzeplastik in Leipzig, die von Wolfgang Mattheuer 1984 geschaffen wurde. Sie gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Kunstwerke der DDR zu Zeiten der Deutschen Teilung und ist eine Parabel auf die Zerrissenheit des 20. Jahrhunderts.
The Century Step is a bronze sculpture in Leipzog created by Wolfgang Mattheuer in 1984. It is considered one of the most important works of art of the GDR at the time of German division and is a parable of the brokenness of the 20th century.

Eine Stadt die ich wieder besuchen werden und dann mehr Zeit im Gepäck ich habe.
Ja, das war in der Tat zu wenig Zeit für ein Treffen mit den Hivians aus Leipzig und den Freunden die ich dort habe.
My conclusion to the short trip.
A city I will visit again and then I hope to have more time in my luggage.
Yes, it was indeed too little time to meet up with the Hivians from Leipzig and the friends I have there.
