Blockchain - kann man das essen? / Blockchain - what's that?
Es war einmal eine nicht mehr ganz junge Frau... die eines Tages etwas über eine "Social Media Blockchain" las, wo man bloggen konnte und allerlei mehr, und davon ganz angetan war. Nicht von den theoretisch möglichen Einnahmen, sondern vom ganzen Konzept. Außerdem hatte ich keine Ahnung, was eine Blockchain war oder wie so etwas funktioniert. Beste Voraussetzungen also, um sich ins Abenteuer zu stürzen!
Once upon a time, there was a woman, not so young anymore... who one day read something about a "Social Media Blockchain", where you could blog and all sorts of other things, and was quite taken with it. Not of the theoretically possible revenues, but of the whole concept. Besides, I had no idea what a block chain was or how something like that worked. Best conditions to jump into the adventure!
Nach einer Woche Wartezeit gab es einen Account und dann wurde erstmal gelesen und gesucht und gesucht und gelesen. Sämtliche Interessensgebiete wurden abgegrast und es fanden sich auch so einige interessante Posts zwischen dem ganzen Krypto-Zeugs. "Wer liest das nur alles", so fragte ich mich (und frage mich noch heute...)
After a week of waiting, there was an account and then I started reading and searching and searching and reading. All areas of interest were grazed and there really were some interesting posts between all the crypto stuff. "Who is reading all this", I asked myself (and still do today...)
NeedleworkMonday
Es wäre vielleicht nur ein kurzer Ausflug gewesen in den Blockchain-Gefilden, der keine Spuren hinterlassen hätte - hätte ich nicht nach Begriffen wie "knitting" (=Stricken) und "crochet" (=Häkeln) gesucht und etwas gefunden. Etwas? Ganz viel! Da gab es einige Beiträge und... einen gemeinsamen tag, nämlich "Needleworkmonday" (=Handarbeitsmontag). Tja, das war an einem Samstag ;)
It might only have been a short trip to the blockchain fields, which would have left no traces - if I hadn't looked for terms like "knitting" and "crochet" and found something. Something? A lot! There were a number of posts and... ac ommon tag, which was #needleworkmonday. Well, that was on a Saturday ;)
Der nächste Needleworkmonday war auch mein erster Needleworkmonday - und nicht mein letzter. Über 70 Beiträge wurden seitdem erstellt, vom stolzen Vorzeigen fertiger Projekte über lange Erklärbär-Posts zu "eigentlich hab ich gerade nichts vorzuzeigen, aber daran arbeite ich gerade".
The next Needleworkmonday was also my first Needleworkmonday - and not my last. More than 70 Posts have been made since then, from proudly showing off finished projects to long explanatory posts to "I don't really have something new to show you, here's my progress".

Discord
Und da war noch die deutschsprachige Community - schnell hatte ich den Hinweis auf den DACH Discordserver gefunden, einer Anlaufstelle für User aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz. Dort wurden viele Fragen beantwortet, hilfreiche Links geteilt. Das DACH verbindet deutschsprachige User über Bits und Bytes hinaus - neben mehrtägigen Treffen wurden auch weihnachtliche Wichtelaktionen organisiert (das letzte davon von mir).
And then there was the German speaking community - I quickly found the Link to the DACH Discordserver, a meeting point for users from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many questions were answered there, helpful links were shared. The DACH connects German-speaking users beyond bits and bytes - besides meetings lasting several days, there were also Secret Santa actions organized (the last one by me).
Die Nutzung von Discord als Ergänzung zur Blockchain hat mir von Beginn an gefallen. Die Möglichkeit, auf verschiedenen Discordservern unkompliziert Fragen zu stellen, direkt Antworten oft von den Programmierern der unterschiedlichen dapps zu bekommen - das fand und finde ich immer noch faszinierend. Da arbeiten Leute an großen Projekten, wo viel Geld drin steckt, und beantworten freundlich auch noch die dümmsten Fragen - wo gibt es das sonst?
I liked the use of Discord as an addition to the Blockchain from the beginning. The possibility to easily ask questions on different discord servers, to get direct answers often from the programmers of the different dapps - I found and still find that fascinating. There are people working on big projects with a lot of money in it, and they answer even the stupidest questions in a friendly way - where else can you find that?
Spiele und noch viel mehr / Games and a lot of other Things
Noch viel mehr rund um die Blockchain hat mich interessiert und tut es noch. Ich bin ein Spielkind - ich habe wohl bei den meisten Games zumindest hereingeschaut und Geld drin versenkt. Am intensivsten wohl Splinterlands, aber ob es NextColony war oder DrugWars oder oder oder, ich hab alles ausprobiert. Und oft zu Beginn auch ein wenig Geld hineingesteckt, denn solch ein Projekt macht viel Arbeit und Kosten und ich unterstütze das gerne. Im Moment ist es Exode - es ist noch nicht wirklich gestartet und ich hab keine Ahnung, wie das funktioniert, aber es sieht spannend aus und ich habe mir schon das Starter Triple Pack gekauft :)
Much more around the Blockchain has interested me and still does. I love games - I guess I at least looked into most of the games and put money into several of them. The most intensive was probably Splinterlands, but whether it was NextColony or DrugWars or whatever, I tried everything. And often at the beginning I put some money into it, because such a project makes a lot of work and costs and I like to support it. Right now it's Exode - it hasn't really started yet and I have no idea how it works, but it looks exciting and I already bought the Starter Triple Pack :)
Es gibt noch so viel das mich interessiert und über das ich schreiben könnte (aber es sträflich vernachlässigt habe): Rollenspiel, Geschichte, Natur und Umwelt... Das ist #breadbakers und vieles andere - ich hab aber die feste Absicht... ihr wisst schon...
There is still so much that interests me and that I could write about (but have sadly neglected to do so): table-top RPG, history, nature and the environment... There's #breadbakers and much more - but I have the firm intention... you know...
Ziele / Goals
Ich habe keine wirklich konkreten Ziele. Allerdings möchte ich versuchen, bis Ende des Jahres zum HIVE-Delphin zu werden, also 5000 HP zu haben. Als ich vor ein paar Wochen drüber nachgedacht habe, fehlten noch ziemlich genau 1111 HP - das war ein Zeichen! Seitdem hab ich schon einige der "Keine Ahnung was ich damit machen soll, ich lass es erstmal liegen"-Token in Hive getauscht und Power UP gemacht. Mein Ehrgeiz ist, es mit möglichst wenig Zukauf über "echtes" Geld zu schaffen. Schau'n mer mal, ich melde mich in einem halben Jahr!
I don't really have any concrete goals. However, I would like to try to become an HIVE dolphin by the end of the year, i.e. to have 5000 HP. When I thought about it a few weeks ago, I was still missing almost exactly 1111 HP - that was a signal! Since then I have already exchanged some of the "I don't know what to do with it, I'll leave it for now" tokens to Hive and staked it. My ambition is to make it with as little additional purchase as possible via "real" money. Take a look, I will tell you in half a year!
