Umbau der Grauwasserleitung an meinem Camping Van
Ich fahre einen Camping Van Clever Runner. Leider ist der Kugelhahn zum Ablassen des Grauwassers sehr weit hinten montiert. Man musste sich fast auf den Boden legen, um an den Hebel zu kommen. Und wenn er etwas verschmutzt war, war er schwer zu bewegen. Außerdem hatte ich keine Lust, auf dem Boden zu knien, wo andere ihr Grauwasser ablassen.
I drive a camping van Clever Runner. Unfortunately, the ball valve for draining the gray water is mounted very far back. You almost had to lie on the ground to get to the lever. And when it was a little dirty, it was hard to move. Also, I didn't feel like kneeling on the floor where others drain their gray water.
Ich habe mir das System genauer angeschaut. Dann habe ich recherchiert, wie andere damit zurechtkommen. Es waren oft die gleichen Meinungen, Clever hat das nicht clever gelöst.
I took a closer look at the system. Then I researched how others handled it. It was often the same opinions, Clever did not solve it smartly.
Auf Youtube habe ich mir einige Lösungen angeschaut. Am Ende stand zur Diskussion, ob ich es elektrisch oder manuell machen sollte. Ich habe mich für den manuellen Betrieb entschieden. Es sollte nicht viel verändert werden.
Für den Umbau musste ich nur drei Teile besorgen. Lochband, Metall-Winkel, Schrauben und Dichtband hatte ich vorrätig. Die noch notwendigen Teile habe ich auf Amazon gefunden:
On Youtube I looked at some solutions. In the end, the discussion was whether I should do it electrically or manually. I decided to do it manually. Not much should be changed.
For the conversion I had to get only three parts. Perforated tape, metal angles, screws and sealing tape I had on hand. The still necessary parts I found on Amazon:
Ein 1 Zoll Distanzstück (PP Muffe), ein 1 Zoll PP Winkel und einen 1 Zoll Kugelhahn. Den Kugelhahn wollte ich erneuern, bzw. als zweiten Hahn dazwischen schrauben, da der verbaute doch recht schwergängig geht.
A 1 inch spacer (PP sleeve), a 1 inch PP angle and a 1 inch ball valve. The ball valve I wanted to renew, or screw as a second valve in between, because the installed but goes quite stiff.
Vom bestehenden System habe ich nur den Kunststoff-Winkel abgeschraubt und durch die Muffe ersetzt. Dadurch habe ich das Ganze etwas weiter nach vorne gebracht. Ich habe den abgeschraubten Kunststoff-Winkel an der Muffe befestigt. Dann den Kugelhahn und schließlich den PP Winkel. Mit dem Metallwinkel und dem Lochband aus Edelstahl und Edelstahlschrauben habe ich den Umbau zusätlich stabilisiert, schon weil der massive Kugelhahn relativ schwer ist. Einen Kunststoff-Kugelhahn wollte ich nicht verwenden.
From the existing system, I only unscrewed the plastic angle and replaced it with the sleeve. Thus I have brought the whole thing a little further forward. I attached the unscrewed plastic angle to the sleeve. Then the ball valve and finally the PP angle. With the metal angle and the perforated band of stainless steel and stainless steel screws I stabilized the conversion additionally, already because the massive ball valve is relatively heavy. I did not want to use a plastic ball valve.
Ich muss jetzt nur noch nach unten greifen und den vorderen Kugelhahn öffnen, um das Grauwasser abzulassen. Den hinteren Kugelhahn lasse ich in geöffneter Position. Das Knien auf dem Boden ist nicht mehr nötig.
I now only have to reach down and open the front ball valve to drain the gray water. I leave the rear ball valve in the open position. Kneeling on the floor is no longer necessary.
Sicherlich hätte man das Ganze schöner und eleganter lösen können. Das Ergebnis ist für mich, der sonst nur am Schreibtisch arbeitet, zufriedenstellend. Arbeitsaufwand mit Dichtigkeitstest ca. 1 Stunde, Kosten, weniger als 20 Euro.
Certainly, the whole thing could have been solved more beautifully and elegantly. The result is satisfactory for me, who otherwise only works at a desk. Work effort with leak test about 1 hour, cost, less than 20 euros.
