This is a romantic film that achieved the acceptance of the public in the 90s but not of the critics, who considered it of low quality, so much so that it received 6 nominations for the Razzies.

It was produced by Kevin Costner, who in turn acted as the main protagonist and the script was written in the 60's by Lawrence Kasdan to star Steve McQueen and Diana Ross, something that never happened.

The plot revolves around a former U.S. Secret Service agent who retires and starts working as a private bodyguard, protecting a successful singer who is receiving death threats.

Both with different lifestyles, Frank Farmer played by Costner, meticulous and orderly, and Rachel Marron, whose role is Whitney Houston's, with a cheerful and vain life, have problems from the beginning, however, because of those destiny issues that opposite poles attract, they do.

Thus is born an intimate relationship with its ups and downs, flavored by family conspiracies that lead to two assassination attempts on the artist and the death of her sister.

It is a film to enjoy without demanding much in terms of the depth of the plot, whose production cost was low, just 25 million and in which there was no participation of renowned artists, only Costner and Bill Cobbs, who plays the role of Bill Devaney, the person who hires the bodyguard, are the most recognized, while for the singer it is her first foray into the film world.

It collected more than 411 million dollars at the box office and the soundtrack was the best-selling of all time, winning three Grammys and the song I Will Always Love You had sales of more than 19 million, it is worth mentioning that this song was recorded by Dolly Parton in 1974,

In this film the final scene takes place at the Oscar awards ceremony, where a black actress would receive such a distinction, something that historically had never happened, as it took 9 years after the film for Hale Berry, something that could be interpreted as a premonition, in addition to breaking the taboo of a relationship between a white man and a black woman, very fashionable at that time.

It is one of those films that can be seen several times and not lose its charm, since beyond the romance, there is the drama and the psychological thriller that means for the protagonist to be harassed until the end.

It is not always the most awarded films that turn out to be the best.

It's true what you say, not always the most awarded movies are the best, and so it happens sometimes, and is that there could be a good movie that by the fact of not having in its cast a renowned protagonist, it is simply not taken much into account, this movie you describe here I have not seen, but it's really good to see you share it with us. !LUV
