Boy, Oh Boy!

It was quite delightful to see such a handsome number of entries we got! And there were plenty of commendable posts, well-articulated and full of fond memories! It was a pleasure to see many authors took the cue and let their pen push to their heart's content. Precisely what the contest was designed for!

And when I say, this posed a problem for the evaluation process, I don't intend it to carry a negative meaning, rather it was a joyful dilemma, happily embraced! The question was put to me, how can we evaluate memories cherished and fondled for years and decades? Hitching a ride in those memory trips is enough!

Yet, this is intended to be a contest and there must be some winners. It is a regret that only three entries can be picked and many a time one entry was thought to be the greatest, only to find another one that can match its greatness.

While it is impossible to rate such memories, some criteria had to be established to decide upon the winning three. Some well-written posts were ranked low for not respecting the spirit of the contest.

Even then, the three entries that are selected here aren't largely greater than the entries that were close behind. But they stood out, pushing the edge.

It is evident from the entries, a lot of participants enjoyed writing for the contest because of the concept — a dive into memory lane.

Hosting the contest was a tremendous experience and thanks to everyone who participated and made it possible for me and everyone else to indulge in such nostalgia!

Stay tuned for the next one!
