This week's contest did take me by surprise, actually I'm not very political in any sense, it's not of my interest at all, nothing that has to do with politics catches my attention but I did remember one of the movies that I saw during 2017 that caught my attention and was chosen for this contest.
El concurso de esta semana si me tomó por sorpresa, en realidad no soy muy de política en ningún sentido, no es de mi interés en lo absoluto, nada que tenga que ver con política llama mi atención pero si recordé una de las películas que vi durante el 2017 que llamó mucho mi atención y fue la elegida para este concurso.
I have seen some movies related to politics but none really stayed in my memory for a long time, but for some strange reason, this movie did and I'm glad I still remember it because it was quite interesting to know that part of British political history from the point of view in which the movie "Darkest Hour" was developed.
Si he visto algunas películas relacionadas con política pero ninguna realmente se mantuvo en mi memoria por mucho tiempo, pero por algún motivo extraño, ésta película si lo hizo y me alegra seguir recordándola porque fue bastante interesante conocer esa parte de la historia política británica desde el punto de vista en el que fue desarrollada la película "Darkest Hour.

"Darkest Hour narrates the events that occurred during the first days of the Second World War in the United Kingdom, where Winston Churchill (masterfully interpreted by "Gary Oldman"), is in charge of the nation as Prime Minister and is responsible for dealing with the nation's political affairs amid threats of invasion and destruction by Nazi Germany in the 1940s.
"Darkest Hour narra los sucesos acontecidos durante los primeros días de la Segunda Guerra mundial en Reino Unido, donde Winston Churchill (magistralmente interpretado por "Gary Oldman"), se encuentra a cargo de la nación como primer ministro y es el responsable de lidiar con los asuntos políticos de la nación en medio de amenazas de invasión y destrucción por parte de la Alemania Nazi de 1940.
It is during these days that the film takes place, initially focusing on Winston Churchill and his work as prime minister to face the war that is coming across Europe. Although this film is not classified as "political" among its genres, I think it should be, since one of the main narrative motifs of the film is centered on its main character, the politician Winston Churchill, In addition to this, conflict and war are also part of the narrative, as well as the drama.
Aunque esta película no es catalogada como de corte "político" entre sus géneros, creo que si debe serlo, ya que uno de los principales motivos narrativos del film está centrado en su personaje principal, el político Winston Churchill, aunado a esto, el conflicto y la guerra también forman parte de la narrativa, así como también el drama.
It was and will continue to be one of my favorite war and political films, beyond both themes, as I said before, they are not of my interest; everything goes beyond those aspects. It was a very well worked and treated film, with impeccable performances and with a very particular care with the scenery, all very dark, just as the reference to the film's title makes.
Fue y seguirá siendo una de mis película sobre guerra y políticas favoritas, más allá de ambos temas, como como dije anteriormente, no son de mi interés; todo va a más allá de esos aspectos. Fue una película muy bien trabajada y tratada, con actuaciones impecables y con un cuidado muy particular con la escenografía, todo muy oscuro, tal como se hace la referencia al título de la película.
