How Do I know?

in Education4 years ago (edited)

As a teacher, I had faced students who would be on cold war because of misunderstanding.

Without open discussion, misunderstanding can be amplified into hatred.

I had experienced shouting, screaming and crying among students when they did not open up to discuss the matter.

The worst is when students start to cyberbully their friends.

As teachers, we had to force both parties to share their side of the story.

Understanding the root of the problems will often resolve the issue easily.

Getting students to share and understand how the other party feels can also create mutual understanding.

This is part of life skill that they must learn to cope with their future work area in their adulthood.

Cyberbulling is more now because children are handed over this phones and they don't know what to do with it.

They go online on social Media and copy the lifestyles of those they don't know and start doing it.

Engaging in illegal activities that would land them into serious trouble if not properly handled.

Indeed the cyberbully cases have increased due to the availability of kids accessing online. This has led many schools to incorporate cyberbullying as part of guidance lessons in schools.

That's good. But all this would have been avoided if they aren't handed these phones.

I'm not saying it's the fault of the parents. Some of these children need these phones to reach out to their parents should the need arises

There should be a safe search and tracker that watches their activities online.

Any attempt the children makes to cross the line, that child should be reprimanded and that device taken away from him or her temporarily.
