THE EMOTIONAL BALANCE AND MENTAL HEALTH OF TEACHERS IN TIME OF CONFINEMENT

All educational reflection is based within a structure to be able to understand and achieve the balance that is needed and thus interpret it as a reality.

In this way I begin the following reflection based on the emotional balance and mental health of teachers in time of confinement with one of the thoughts of Jean Piaget where he states:
"Each structure must be conceived as a particular form of equilibrium, more or less stable in its restricted field and susceptible to its limits"
(Jean Piaget
).

In this sense, when things get out of their limit it is not healthy because there is an imbalance that really affects the emotional state of the person

Therefore you have to understand that life has changed us all. However, most of the time we think about all the structures that make life in the social world but we forget that teachers are also human beings and that we are facing a new pedagogical challenge that needs our imagination, creativity and a lot of patience, as many forget that it is also we have family and children to take care of and that our rhythm of life, that is, our role now depends only on our homes where we share activities and content online with our students and parents.

It is evident that teachers need, in this time of confinement, where we are imparting our role remotely, transmit our experiences with mysticism and professional ethics and guarantee within our capacities and personal tools the competences healthy and positive communication with our students and parents as We do it in face-to-face classes but now through digital media, which is our greatest resource in this time of confinement.

As you can see now we have a greater challenge more commitment since some parents of families who are also facing this confinement for the first time do not know how to handle this situation and are constantly consulting the teacher and as you will understand it is not just a student they are many students and if we do not know how to manage this situation with balance, it is most likely that at this time there are teachers with effects and implications on physical and psychological health

Within this perspective, teachers must set or establish a schedule to be able to healthily cover the activities indicated, although it is not 100% since we know that doubts and questions between students and parents will always be present without taking into account the schedules established before the doubt and some problems that may arise through the access route

¿Faced with this situation, what should we do?

The first thing we have to do is reflect on our great mission and recognize that we are facing a new challenge, a new opportunity that life gives us an emotional and cognitive experience where we are bound by love for vocation to share with our students and parents of families. where we must all make the best of it and act with maturity

The emotional education of the teacher aims at the development of emotional competences that contributes to a better personal and social well-being and above all we must have the will to want to be aware of the present time, identify our emotions and keep them under control, arm ourselves with courage and empathy, work patience and provide ourselves with self-help resources to be able to develop our role with balance, organizing time with our family and with our work in order to find the true balance we need to take care of our mental and emotional health in this time of confinement where we really all need help.

We know that we do not all have the same conditions and we do not all handle our emotions in the same way, but what we do know is that we are united by a single task, our mission of being teachers and that is more than enough to make us react and seek our position in a balanced way. in this time of adversity where we have to encourage the learning of our students in the same way that we did with face-to-face classes

We cannot lower our guard we need to strengthen ourselves and our students strengthen our structure to maintain our position and beat time with this new stage and challenge that life puts on us is not easy but together we can and we will do it in a balanced way
