To improve children's skills and creativity, community service program (KKN) Malikussaleh University students from Group 34 held a coloring competition in Baru Village, Hinai District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra.

Since conducting KKN in Desa Baru, a number of activities have been carried out by Group 34 under the guidance of lecturer Ayi Jufridar MSM. Previously, Group 34 had empowered women to make masks made from cloth.

After successfully making masks with their mothers, Reza Wahyu Pratama et al invited the children to hone their skills and creativity through coloring competitions.
"Apart from inviting them to be involved in positive activities, this competition is to educate them to compete since they were young," said the Law student, some time ago.

According to Reza, the competition was held at the same time as an arena for children to be able to learn while playing and have fun in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which has made their learning activities at school not optimal.

"The children's response is quite positive. They feel they have a new joy after being stuffed with school assignments that must be completed at home," added Yunita, a member of Group 34.

Meanwhile, Ayi Jufridar mentioned that there are many work programs that students can do at KKN locations. They never spend much, the important thing is that these activities are beneficial for the environment, hopefully they can have a long-term impact, he said. [kur]

Asal Keterampilan Anak, Kelompok 34 Gelar Lomba Ini

[kur]
