Behavioural Objectives

During and by the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:

  1. read the comprehension passage fluently
  2. attempt answers to the questions in the passage
  3. identify difficult/new words in the passage.

An announcement had been made earlier ago to all the pupils and teachers that they will celebrate the Founder's Day in the usual grand style. The said date was fast approaching, so the Head Teacher decided to announce that the school will not be able to celebrate it as usual because of the financial constraint caused by covid- 19 pandemic.

Hence, "this year's celebration will be on low-key," the Head Teacher noted. All the peoples and teachers are not happy because it is usually a merry-making day. The teachers are more surprised because this is the very first time that the Founder's Day will not be celebrated in the history of the school's book.
However, they agreed that the financially and health wise, it would be impossible to celebrate this year's Founder's Day, as doing so would go against the rules of the World Health Organization's guidelines on Covid-19 one of such is avoiding large gathering of people.
