Most African countries with immense Natural resources are victims to this, whenever a substance of high quality and demand is discovered, people die in Multitude, not willingly but with Superpowers making claim on it!
Since the days of King Leopold of Belgium, millions of people have paid with their blood for any precious discoveries e.g Gold, Rubber, Diamonds, Ivory, Crude Oil etc. When some of this items came to the attention of the Western World; souls perished, villages burnt, Children were raped, fathers butchered, Mothers molested and the universe weep for this innocent ones.
According to Global Reports, many of these precious stones and elements discovered in some African Countries are purchased to broker Arms deal and finance civil wars in these African Nations and several developing regions alike. There was little or no prohibition of importation of this resources directly or indirectly from several of the conflicts zones in the history of the Blood spilled in the Continent.
The Free World and it's Government had Raided many Rich in Resources African Countries to satisfy their Greed, creating a Slave and Master psychology to consume the minds of victims. In Congo, Serria-Leone, Gabon, Nigeria etc millions died for the resources of their lands because the Capitalist countries had taken a sudden interest in their riches.
DIAMONDS SOAKED IN BLOOD
One of the World's most precious metal if not the most, known to be a symbol of Elegance, Beauty, and happiness with wealth. But this same gem had left millions dead from civil wars and conflicts that had left millions more injured. Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), Ivory Coast, Angola, Sierra-Leone, Liberia had been through many civil wars and dozens of conflicts that had been funded by Billions of Dollars made from the illegal transactions of this precious stone.
Although KCPS- The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme created in 2002 which was implemented by the United Nations to prevent this "Blood Diamonds" from being traded in legit Precious Gems tradings. But it never helped because the Reigning Terror Group e.g "Al Qaeda, ISIS" made millions of Dollars from Illegal dealings of Diamond to launch attacks on countries in the Western World and all over the Globe despite the Kimberly Process.
Survivals are still soaked in an emotional quagmire, the consequences of this war still linger on with several families missing, leaving scars and traumas in it wakes, this war had created a politically and economically imbalanced region in Africa, where the Billions of US dollars worth of their Natural resources could not save them but had caused harm to these ones. Many of the Child soldiers created are still killers, the ones rescued were damaged beyond repairs and these memories might remain for generations to come.
Approximately, Blood Diamonds yields about 15% of the $6.8 Billion world annual Diamond production, take this percentage out; it is still a major Booming sector. The reason why some of the countries where the gems are mined are thrown into disarray is unknown. Since the end of the cold war with "Bipolar-based international security regime", total peace and order had been a scarce commodity for several post-colonial African countries which had placed the aforementioned into Psychological and Socio-economical shambles.
With many emphasizes on these troubled regions in terms of Diamond mining, there are few places in Africa where Diamonds and some other precious metals are not mined in Blood and not at the cost of many lives with mutilated bodies. For example;

In January 2003, 40 countries signed the Kimberly Process in an effort to stem the flow of Conflict diamonds, but illegal Diamonds are still finding their way to the international markets. It is the consumer's decision to trade and wear conflict free precious gems; which had not claimed millions of lives.
