Last month there was an incident, shall we say, with wild BLM protesters (more likely rioters under the guise of protesters) invading the sanctity of someone's private property. Their goal was apparently to ransack the mansion of the property owners.
Unlucky for them, and lucky for the property owners, the owners were there, and they were armed, ready to defend their property as anyone has the right to do.
They made headlines for displaying their firearms to the protesters. Apparently you can't fend off would-be attackers and looters in St. Louis where this happened. The couple was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.
St. Louis' top prosecutor, Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner filed charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey who are personal injury attorneys. Gardner said:
It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner -- that is unlawful in the city of St. Louis
So, you can only take out your guns, and shoot people who are threatening your property. You can't wave them around to get rid of these violators. Or maybe you could take your guns out, and have them pointed to the side or to the ground, or to the sky, but not at people who are threatening to rob you. Very odd.
Prior to the charges, 'authorities' raided their home and stole their weapons. Then the feds in their crooked corruption to criminalize lawful people defending their property, re-assembled the disabled pistol Mrs. McCloskey had used. It was not capable of being fired, but they made it capable of being fired and then charged her for her now functional weapon. That's what the crooked state does to convict lawful people.
Meanwhile, the hooligans that wanted to rob these people are free to go. This is the "law" in the "land of the free". Corrupt authorities doing their best to keep violators free and criminalize the lawful.
