We're already there; through carbon taxes we effectively already pay for clean air to breathe, if your home in an expensive state like, let's say New York is in a place in the sun (not in the shadow of a high-rise building), you already pay extra... Crazy indeed, but it's simple capitalism my friend, which always ends in corporate fascism.
Weren't you defending copyright the other day? A patent, my friend, is a mark of ownership, and you're not against that. When you make something yourself, something that has never been made before, then you can apply, and pay for a patent. Capitalism however dictates that only the ones with bucket-loads of money can afford such a patent, which in turn means that almost no patent is owned by the poor individual who had the original idea.

I hate patents. There should be no patents on anything because if you can patent one thing, then who decides whether or not you could patent the sun?
